If David Carr gets released does he become our backup QB?

The SMART move for Houston would have been to trade down for more picks and get more good players- if not taking Ferguson to give them a top LT would have been a lot better. I don't care how good a RB or a QB is, if you ain't got at least a decent line they will stink. What absolutely baffles me is that EVERYONE has known for YEARS their O line stank- yet they have done very little to build one. That is stupidity on a grand scale that only Detroit seems to be able to match on a consistent basis; or Arizona- and its noticeable that Arizona's O line stinks pretty good as well.

I have a question re: their OL...

With Kubiak there, aren't they more likely to move to the Denver/Atlanta style OL... smaller quicker guys for the zone blocking schemes?

Assuming he is, I don't know how D'Brick would have fit. He could have been just too big or whatever.

I have a feeling Kubiak is going to work A LOT on the OL this offseason. It's too obvious of a problem not to.

Ferguson was considered pretty quick. Certainly much smaller and much quicker then the Hotel.

Carr pretty much sucks. You can blame it on the O-line if you want, but he has never demonstrated good decision making.

He does throw a pretty ball though. If only that was all it takes to be a good qb.

I would hope so, but he could probably find a starting job somewhere instead. Some place with an offensive line.

I'm just really impressed by his accuracy, and there is still coach Palmer there too.
$8,000,000 signing bonus before the season and passing on Vince Young means Carr has to stay in Houston.
