So, which coach was acknowledged for implementing the "pass heavy game plan"?

By an AP reporter who is clearly dialed in.

And their names are?
Some of the top assistants out there? There always out there every year. Spagnola(sp?) from the Giants, McDaniels from the Pats, Leslie Frazier from Vikes, Jim Schwartz from the Titans. Where do think most of these coaches like Cowher and Holmgren come from? They just fell out of the sky as great HOF coaches, right?

In case you missed it all of those assistants were kind of available when Jerry hired BP and Wade.

Which one of those guys has a legit shot at the Cowboys HC job?

Or are you just talking?

I tend to think not. If Garrett leaves, the continuity doctrine established yesterday by Jerry Jones will be put under duress, and it will become more important to keep the other parts of the current system intact. Thus, it will be more important to keep Wade in place. This is what will go on in Jerry's mind.

Funny how JG was the perfect OC last year, but this year everyone wants him out of here. I find it funny, but maybe that's just me.

it isn't just you

if we make the change, fast forward to January 1, 2010 and people will want that coach fired too

You are not making any sense. All of them have a legit shot if the Cowboys job becomes available. But I forget you only want Cowher or Stoops:)laugh2: )

All of those assistants were available when BP/Wade was hired? I think you need to review that. McDaniels, Spanuola weren't even on the radar when BP was hired. Seems to me you are talking outta you nowhere and making up ish to try to make yourself look good. Go ahead and hire Stoops. Name me 5 college coaches that came to the NFL and had success in the last 20-25 years. Name me 5 assistant coaches that had success the last 20-25 years. We'll see which list has more names on it. Stoops, get outta here with that nonsense.

Jerry is not firing Wade, he has flat-out stated this numerous times since the game.

It does not matter what Garrett does, if he leaves to coach the Lions then Jerry will most defiently keep Wade to run the D.

You guys want Stewart taking over the D again??

I didnt think so.

Yes, but the premise of this thread is based on the notion that if Norm is right, and Jerry is only keeping Wade because he knows that's the only way he can keep Garrett, and Garrett leaves, what then?

If Norm's premise is wrong, then clearly, Garrett could leave without it affecting Wade's status. Someone internally might just be promoted. But if Norm's right, it would seem Jerry's whole reasoning to keep Wade might disappear.

With that said, in the end, I think I buy Norm's theory somewhat, but am not convinced it changes anything even if he's right. Even if Wade is only here because of Garrett, and Garrett bolts, I don't get the sense Jerry is in the physical or mental mindset to conduct a long, drawn-out coaching search.

In fact, even though I couldn't help but smile and laugh when the news broke about the Lions being interested in Garrett, I'm not convinced him leaving is the best thing for us right now. Now, I absolutely am not pleased with what he's done as offensive coordinator, but like with the head coach, I don't see Jerry conducting some long search for a new coordinator. I think someone internally would merely be promoted, and I don't want change just for the sake of change. As much as Garrett is criticized, we all know there are worse options -- several of which probably reside on this staff.

Lastly, I do think Garrett leaves this time if offered the job. Part of the argument fans had last season concerning his mindset was why would he leave this franchise, which presents a perfect opportunity, to coach at some wasteland like Atlanta. That didn't prove to be the best of theories. Also, with the heat he's taking here all of a sudden, I'm not convinced he wouldn't prefer to some degree to bolt now while his stock is still high.

And you know what else is funny. From last year to this year his offense got so simple, it's been SIMPLIFIED........

You're clueless.

You think every candidate had an equal shot at the job when Jerry flew on his private jet up to meet BP?

When the job does come available You're smoking crack if you don't think Holmgren/Cowher near at the top of the list.

No.

I do know you are all over the place. One minute you say Cowher and Stoops are the only coaches and everyone else would be a silly choice.

Then the next minute you ask me to name assistant coaches that are up for the job. I give you those names and then you say they all were interviewed when we chose Parcells/Wade which was not true and now you tell me I am clueless.

Riiiiiighhhhhhhht.

You still haven't given me who those 5 college coaches that have won in the NFL in the last 20-25 years. I am also waiting for you to tell me when Schwartz, Frazier, Spanuaola interviewed for the Cowboys job before Parcells was hired and before Wade was hired.

Go get Stoops. He is the answer.
