I an not so certain about the "tie breaker" procedures outside the division, but I would think Head to Head would come first if Carolina and Cowboys were tied?

That would only apply if Carolina weren't leading their division. Division winners are seeded higher than wild card teams, regardless of record.

Exactly. The Cowboys control their own destiny for the 5th seed (Carolina and NO play each other again). If the Giants lose tonight, the Cowboys control their own destiny for the division and the #3 seed.
