If Houston wants a rivalry with the Cowboys so much...

I commend you many Oiler/Texans fans would not admit that. I have lived in Houston since 1970 and when me and my family moved here we pulled for the Oilers given the fact they were not in the NFC but after some of the smack we took from Oiler fans it was not hard to wish nothing but bad on the Houston team. Funny but Texans are the only Houston team I dislike, I pull for the Rockets and Astros but when it comes to football no way in hell would I pull for the Texans. :laugh2:

To this day 1 of my all time favorite non cowboys game was the Oilers loss to the Bills in the playoffs when Houston blew a 30 something point lead. My dad did not even want to watch the game any more when Houston took the big lead and each time Buffalo scored I kept telling him he was about to miss the biggest comeback of all time and sure enough before all was said and done buffalo did just that. I never laughed so hard in my life the next day.

No doubt and I have lived on the other side of the coin. Been a loyal Oilers fan for near 3 decades and refused to follow them to Nashville due to Bud Adams' posturing and evasive tactics to have us fund his new stadium. I became a fan of the NFL in the interim until we were finally awarded a franchise and honestly, most of my animosity for the Cowboys didn't come until the Oilers skipped town and an abundance of bandwagon fans started popping up in droves (and we all know Houston is such a fair weather city).

I have always respected the Cowboys as a team but it was these pretentious newly aquired Cowboys fans that really pushed me over to the edge.

As far as Sunday goes, I think you guys are good in shape. I saw both Cowboy games and came away from it with the understanding that if they lessen their mistakes, this is a team to reckon with. Our kiddie secondary is in shambles and if your O-line can gain Romo some time, he's going to pick us apart with ease. If anything this will be a high scoring affair that might come down to the last possession.

It's like haves and have-nots. Cowboys are the only haves in the league. Everyone else is a have-not.

John McClain is a friend of mine and he has told me before he grew up a Cowboys fans but finds some of the Cowboy fans obnoxious because they can't recognize that other teams also have good talent and that the NFL does not revolve around the Cowboys.

I guess he likes me because while I am a diehard Cowboy fans I do show some respect to other teams around the league I just can't go the Texans or Eagles not because of the team but because of their fans.

I have not talked with him for a few weeks but need to see how things are going considering his wife if a die hard Commanders fan.

Houston sees this as an interstate rivalry just as they see the Ranger/Astros game as a rivalry. Consider it an in house fight amongst many in the state of Texas

I always enjoy McClain's articles and insight to the game. He really won me over though when he went to bat for Robert Brazile's induction into the Hall of Fame. Great guy.

I have nothing but the utmost respect for die hard fans who know their craft, it's the wishy washy ones that really get my goat.

For example, my brother was an Oilers fan that turned Cowboys fan in the lean years and now guess what boat he's on this year? ... the Texans LOL

Hey I admit I love die hard fans, those die hard fans in New Orleans I tip my hat to them because they went through hell for years but stayed true to their team even when they went to the game with bags on their heads they were still there. To those who jump to teams because they are winning and then talk smack I don't think much of them or care to talk football with them

I am originally from Texas (left in 2005) and I never hated the Texans. Do not hate them now. But this is how I best describe it.
Houston vs Dallas is a rivalry
Texans vs Cowboys is not a rivalry

I just do not get excited on beating the Texans. The next time we'll play them will be 2013 if we do not meet them in the superbowl before then. We play them once every four years. I want to beat them as much as I want to beat Seattle.

I wonder if Pittsburgh and Philadelphia go through this in Pennsylvania when it comes to football. I know when I lived in Washington, Commander fans don't hate the Ravens. They are just annoyed by them.
