If it wasn't for our Defense, Rush would suck

The 2000 Ravens won a Super Bowl with Trent Dilfer as quarterback and the 1985 Bears won a Super Bowl with Jim McMahon as quarterback, yet those teams were known for their great defenses.

That said, it would be hard back then to say either of those quarterbacks "suck" because they led teams to Super Bowl wins when other "great" quarterbacks never did.

I do not care if the Cowboys have a "great" quarterback. I do not care if Dak is better than Rush or Rush is better than Dak. I do not care if they win with Dak, Rush or a player-to-be-named-later.

I do not care if the Cowboys win a Super Bowl because of their offense, defense and/or special teams. I do not care if they get lucky or other teams are unlucky.

The only thing I care about is winning in the playoffs and the Super Bowl. The route they endure to accomplish those things is irrelevant to me as long as they win.

When he was on his rookie contract, the only ones worried about stats were the dak fanatics, even in losses..the rest of us Cowboys fans just wanted wins..he could have thrown for 150 and if we won, nobody would care..but,when someone got hurt,it affects him, before amari he stunk,if everything is not perfect he stinks, remember the tb game?now with Rush, nothing been perfect either, but we've still found a way to win...that's the difference...

Again not true, because there were fans who did care about the amount of yards Dak threw for. Saying that no one card how many yards Dak threw for in his first 1-2 seasons isn't true. There were threads and posts about Dak not throwing for 200 yards and his critics saying that the team won despite of him and that he deserved no credit for those types of wins.

Actually if you want to call it Dak's record (and not team wins/losses) Dak is actually 53-33 for his career. As for the 27 ppg, how many of those were garbage games where Dallas was very far behind in the 4th quarters and led to losses or against a pathetic team? The Philly game to end the year was against the Eagles 3rd string players which led to Dak padding 5 TD's and 51 points....the same could be said for the second game against Wash where Dallas rolled 56 points....

So the 16 games Dak played in last season amounted to an average Dallas scoring of roughly 33 points/game (this includes defensive and special teams scoring) but removing the 2 games referenced above and the 2021 scoring (including any defensive or special teams scoring) and the average scoring drops to 30 points/game.

While still better than what Rush is producing, keep in mind last season the Dallas defense gave up an average of 21 points/game whereas the 2022 defense (through 4 games) is giving up an average of 15 points/game so Rush is not in a position to have to go guns blazing with scoring.

Also keep in mind that this off-season saw the loss of Amari Cooper, La'el Collins, and Tyron Smith (injury) which of course will impact the offensive production.
Lol.....yeah ok

You lost when you said CR is winning because the the D was only giving up 1 TD a game, then how come Dak lost, you do know the D only gave up 1TD, Why don’t you quit while you’re a head Lmao did you even think before you posted it.
Lost? Lol....it's not about a win or a lost. And not at all did I proclaim Dak was undefeated in his career. Again......Rush has the benefit of a lightsout defense. Dude...you're not even making sense. Let me say this.....have that same attitude when Dak COMES BACK,ok? Much appreciated. Lmao.....lost? ***?!?

The number of QBs that are on the winning side when the Defense gives up 30 pts a game is rather limited.
So to be blunt all this post is - frankly - another shot at Rush by another Dak fan boy
First of all, let me say this....I'm a Cowboys fan first. Actually, it's you that's more of a Dak hater. And more than likely someone that has never put on football pads for any length of time or at all. It's not a shot at Rush. Reread the post. I said he's playing good. Is he of Daks caliber? Not even close. He's taking advantage of a lights-out defense. Nothing wrong with that. But many of you Dak haters are acting like he's the 2nd coming. Rush was in a fight for his football life during preseason. He's lucky there aren't more turnovers because he throws floaters. He's not an NFL starter. He's an NFL backup and I'm happy he's keeping us afloat.

Toad Hunter has a decent record against TOADS in the league, not against average teams he doesn't! The best way to identify Toadie's record is to think of a desert mirage, because his win total to Cowboy Fans makes it look like he's own decent teams in the league and he really HASN'T! The Toad Hunter struggles bigtime when he plays in meaningful games and that's ashame because of the mega bucks he's stealing from the Cowboys!
Lol....try again. You sound stupid

...there were a few Dak critics in 2016. I know, because I was part of that small group surrounded by mouth breathers who were running around saying the only reason we didn't like Dak was 1. Because he wasn't Romo 2. Because he is half black. I know the crap said to me and there were very few people backing me up, including mods. You Dak stans had the run of the place for a while and then the end of 2016 happened and then Dak stunk up the joint in 2017 and he gained more "haters".

Play this crap with me, boy. There are few members on here who can attest to what I am saying. To now for you to whine like a child because a 7 year QB hasn't lived up to the expectations you stans created for him in 2016 is hilarious.
Boy?!?! I wish SOOO bad that we could have a in person forum. Yeah...I know you weren't talking to me, but I already know your agenda! But you BETTER be careful how you talk! If you're going to debate...debate! But don't get brave behind your computer and start calling people 'boy"!

All this doesn’t matter to the Daksters. They just want him as the starting QB. Wins mean nothing. They are Prescott fans not Cowboy fans.
Far from the truth. The point is.....you guys are all on Rush bandwagon with support, but you weren't supporting Dak. That's the point. We all should want Dallas to win. But most of you are showing your "true colors" with Rush, who's playing like we all should hope. But he's overall, he's mediocre at best. Just support Dak the same way. That's the point.

My response was to those who are saying how Dak is being overhyped, while comparing Cooper Rush to Kurt Warner and Tom Brady. Or having no qualms with giving Cooper Rush all or most of the credit for the Cowboys 3 wins this season.

Just like the ones who are giving Cooper Rush lots of praise for the same types of games that Dak had in his rookie season that they were discrediting him on or saying things like how the team was winning despite him. Now with Cooper Rush it's "He's doing enough to with the offense to help the team win." Yet I remember those who complained about Dak not throwing for over 200 yards while he was in his first year and on his rookie contract.
Exactly! This is exactly what I was saying.

This is far from the truth. Dak didn't have Amari his rookie season and had a helluva season. And when Dak threw 220 yards...more than the 150 you claim, people were all over Dak saying the Cowboys can't win with those stats. Most looked for reasons not to support Dak even when they were winning. Rush throws a floater football. He's doin what we hope.....he's winning. All were saying is, show Dak the same love when he's QB.

The TOAD in a joke just like you're poster name. To have Tony D's name and number associated with you is a shameful joke! You need to change your name to TOADIE 4!
