If it's about the QB why is SF getting all this hype over Dallas?

I’m glad.

i almost feel we could just bring our defense to play both offense and defense and have a shot????......we have to put the hurt on anyone we see first game as wild card team cause we aint going to most likely

grab # 1 in East but we dont have to....several NFL teams have played and won all "away" games as wild card and won SB's....dont care about that.....just go 'RABID" come playoff time

Platinum guaranteed we need both defense, offense, special teams and coaching to go deep into the playoffs.

That’s because unlike Dallas the 49ers don’t need a superstar QB. They have elite coaching, defense and running scheme.

You literally have two coaches in San Francisco a legend that revolutionized the running game and a prodigy son.. the 49ers literally just need to not implode and get decent QB play.
Right. That is why Dallas went 4-1 with Cooper Rush and STILL have a better record than the "awesome 49ers". Only by points allowed can the 49ers defense be considered the top unit. Dallas is NFL's #1 ranked DVOA defense...49ers are #2.

Because the 49ers are a consistently great team in spite of their QB. Their QB isn’t the reason they are a top tier team, unlike the Chiefs or Bengals, who are largely great because of their QB.

Every year, the 49ers succeed based off of their run game, defense, and great coaching. Those remain in tact despite Jimmy G’s injury. That’s why they are so great and ranked above us, and until we are a capable of beating them and getting to a championship/Super Bowl in this decade, it will remain that way (and deservedly so.)

And their QB is always their downfall, going back to the Jim Harbaugh days when they add Alex Smith and Kap. Obviously making a Super Bowl and NFC championship are great accomplishments. But they can never bring home the Super Bowl trophy because when push comes to shove and they fall behind and need points, QB fails them. They would have lost to Green Bay last year had the special teams or defense (can't remember which) scored their lone TD. They lost the Rams game because they needed Jimmy G to put just one single drive together to win the game and he couldn't.

Chiefs Super Bowl was the same way. Once the Chiefs woke up and started to score points, Jimmy G had no ability to answer. Once SF falls behind, the game falls to their QB, which is their weakest link.

This is why people wanting Jimmy G here were insane. He isn't good. And last playoffs, he was terrible. Here in Dallas, he would not have been surrounded with what he had in SF.

Ya'll fallen for it again this year is a sight to see.

San Fran bullied us last year and will do it again if we play them.

It doesn't matter who their QB is because our QB won't perform against their defense. It's really that simple.

I doubt it

Just out of curiosity... if the Niners are indeed a "better team in many aspects." Why do they have a worse record despite a much softer schedule and no real competition in their division?

Asking for a friend..
Like, like, like, like.

I seem to remember the Falcons bearing the niners a few weeks back. I guess that doesn't count?

Are they that much better as a whole over this team that the QB is neglibible?
I mean, really?

No, and it will catch up with them. Garapolo might not be a star, but he's a solid NFL qb.

They can't play Carolina and New Orleans every week of the playoffs. Their "legendary" defense will be tested big time
They beat up Atlanta and New Orleans every week during the 80's and it got them four Super Bowls.

We have to fix the slow starts. I think when we play the iggles, I expect the Vikings team to reemerge.

Yes, there are some power ranking that has Dallas as high as #2, behind the iggles. Most place SF above Dallas, which makes no sense. These analyst keep saying "without a QB, you're not going anywhere."

So, I'm to believe a rookie QB who barley was drafted is better than a Pro Bowl QB who was in the discussion for MVP last year? Really?

There is far too much biasness towards Dallas. The media blames it on Dallas never making it far into the playoffs for the past 27 years. Newsflash! This is an entirely different team! Other teams are not held to this standard.....unbelievable.

That's why they play the games.

Kind of like our soft schedule pads our record ? We’ve played 4 decent teams and lost 3 of those games (TB, GB, PHI and beat Vikes - Cincy was not a good team at beginning of season). Both teams have weaker opponents but play different teams so using that as a comparison isn’t proof of anything. Head to head ? Last year they scared, embarrassed, and beat us on our own field. Let’s hope it’s different this year if we meet them.

Removing one of the good teams we beat makes your argument awfully weak.

They may of gotten an upgrade from Jimmy G who wasn't bad to begin with. Time will tell but if you watched the game and saw that kid under all out pressure he threw a strike to the TE over the middle. He looked pretty sharp. But it's just one game.

They did it to themselves. Only way to lose the choker tag is go far in the Tourney.

Every media guy, every fan, they all think this team is regular season flash, no clutch toughness.

SF scares me even without Jimmy G. They really don’t need a great QB to be successful. Hand the ball off and get the ball to their playmakers. Their defense is stout as well.

I don’t think it’s a bias against Dallas honestly. I think that fans and people outside of Dallas are skeptical of the Cowboys. A lot of the same guys are here who have not shown up in the playoffs.
