There's no doubt in my mind it would have been more about Romo than it would be the call.
Nobody outside of here knows Scott Linehan. The entire planet knows Tony Romo.
Ricardo Lockette is the Seahawks' 5th receiver (including Willson at TE) who was bumped up a spot after Richardson got hurt vs. the Panthers. That would be like Romo throwing to Dwayne Harris or Devin Street in that situation. Would be a disaster.
Imagine the Cowboys were in that exact same situation, and Jason Garrett/Linehan had called a pass that was picked off instead of running it three straight times, what would you have done? How would you have reacted. My 14 yr. old son speculated that he would have to call 911 to send me to the emergency room from having a heart attack. While I don't have heart problems, I think he was right. Given JG's penchant for calling passes in that situation and the Romo choke label, I think if that had happened to us, I would absolutely pass out right when it happened. It would have been the worst possible scenario for the Cowboys to lose a SB....I would much rather lose by 30.
How would you have reacted?
Because everyone knows that a REAL coach, you know, like Pete Carroll, never makes a mistake (sarcasm off)
Bevell made the call not Pete Carroll.
and pete approved.Bevell made the call not Pete Carroll.
