With the owner and coach not agreeing on the QB, what if Fisher becomes available. Do we go and get him or stay with Garrett? That is the question.

In 17 seasons, Fisher has made it past the Divisional Round only 1 time!!!!

You think that would fly in Dallas????

okay let me explain this to you, regardless of facts, the grass is always greener on the other side. no one coach is not good enough, no one coordinator is ever good enough, not one player the best at one position is ever good enough.

I mean really, what is the allure to Dallas for Fisher?

He's a very good coach, but I would think we stay with Garrett. I would love for Garrett to pan out and coach the Cowboys for 20 years or more.

Pleaaaaasssseeee NO.

Jeff Fisher is a guy who loves "play not to lose" football. That wins some regular season games, but over the long haul has proven to be a bad playoff recipe.

No thanks.

Yea, I am tired of these retreds that are here for a couple of seasons and then are gone. Cowher is no different, he would be here for a couple of seasons and then either be fired or quit depending on the success or failure of the team.

I would love for Garrett to be the HC for the next 10+ years.

I believe we go get him if he's available and interested.(which I doubt) but lets get the nite tarted.Stand by for the repercussions on this opinion but what the hell.

This franchise needs a big name and a Top name coach.

Not to take anything away from JG but I still feel confused on how a team will quiton the HC and then play for the O.C. with the same players who has been there all thru the trouble. Also as far as I know the team never said they had a problem with Wade.

Nope, If by the luck of the gods Fisher is available and interested, GO GET EM!!!!!!!!!:scram:

If there is one coach I absolutely do not want, it would be one Jeff Fisher.

Nothing wrong with the coach we have now. Why even consider anyone else?

This ^

.... and I think he is a bit of a snake. I dont like the way he does things. He has handled other players situations poorly.

He aint moving no mountains.

Garrett is already better.

Ah, dont get crazy... he is a "better fit" ;)

I think that's where you are completely wrong. The Cowboys do not need a top name coach. I truly hope Garrett gets the nod. Not only will he not cost as much as the top name coaches, he knows our organization, and he's a homegrown Dallas Cowboy.

If we let Garrett go, he'll be yet another young and hungry Sean Payton-type coach that we let ride off into the sunset. No thanks.

Fletch - he is a lock. Book it.

I already posted that if he is not HC next year then I will take 2011 off from posting on CZ.

Seriously.

If things continue to go as they have been, then it's Garrett's job. But otherwise, I'd love to have Fisher. Being hamstrung with VY and some poor personnel people have been his biggest problem.

Jeff Fisher was in my top 4.

Fisher's small market team plays with physical and mental toughness. They are struggling now, but it isn't due to over confidence or lack of effort or complacency. Fisher has accomplished a great deal in a small market. They had to gut their payroll and experienced several down years. Fisher's teams have never been spoiled with offensive weapons. They have to win the blue-collar way. It gives them an edge. It makes them physical. They run the football and play physical and fast on defense.

Jason Garrett is in the process of instilling physical and mental toughness right now. Garrett is teaching his team how to be disciplined, professionals. Garrett is instilling pride in yourself, the team, and the organization. Garrett is instilling respect for the game and your opponent. The attention to detail is there.

According to earlier poster, the Cowboys never said they wouldn't play for Wade. While everyone on the team claimed to love Wade, the truth was most of them weren't willing/able to play hard enough to help him keep his job.

In fact their play during preseason & the first half of the regular season was a shot out that they no longer believed in Wade as their HC. Yes, the Cowboys have some problems on their team which certainly affect their ability to play winning football. Garrett came in as HC and made some significant changes, particularly: all players wear pads on Wednesday so they have a real football hitting session; focusing on details which often turn a game around, holding each player accountability (no more of Wade saying mistakes are all on him),, etc.

Cowboys have won their first 2 games under Garrett. But the problem areas remain (OL, DL, secondary & quality backup at LB) & certainly will prevent the Cowboys from going 8-0; however, he's toughen up the players & made them understand the NFL is a tough business & hard work is required to win. Nothing else is acceptable.

Get back to us in 6 weeks.

That said, my preference is for Garrett to be the man.
