If Jerry actually stepped aside, how much better would this team be?

Jerry's brand, his imprint, and his hold on the culture and M.O. of the organization is so strong...it will take some years to end the stench.
I'd love to be wrong about this.

How much better would this team be in FA, Drafting, putting together a team, bringing less attention to us in the media, focusing on the actual aspect of football, player development, scouting, team building etc etc!! Please give your thoughts
Talent is a big part of our struggles and Stephen isn’t gonna use FA just like his dad won’t. But Stephen I think is less likely to undermine the coaching staff like his daddy does

Is it that the Cowboys don’t pursue free agents or is it players that have been in the league a few years know better than to dedicate continuation of their playing careers to the Dallas Cowboys? Cowboys fans think the Cowboys are special. All fan bases think their favorite team is special.

Th Dallas Cowboys may well be an NFL organization veteran players and their representatives know to avoid.

I am so far disgusted by Jerry Jones, what is so sad it that for the most part it has been greed lately that has cost this team everything. It is Jerry pinching pennies at every possible turn. Yet, here is a guy that has enough money to last for more than 1000 generations of family members, that all of them could live at the highest part of society for a 1000 generations. And yet with his type of money, this guy continues to pinch pennies at every corner, and then makes the mind boggling mistake of thinking because he pays a 4th string wanna be quarterback more money then any sports person ever, that somehow such a move would somehow convince the subconscious of Dak Prescott to actually begin to believe in himself..... which I am afraid will NEVER, EVER, HAPPEN.

Things are so far gone in Dallas now that our season is over even prior to half way through the season. And to think, this has happened all the while they have had a fairly talented team, at least a team that should make the playoffs and perhaps lose in the 1st or 2nd round. But this certainly is not a 5 and 10 team! And so we are left with asking ourselves, "why is this the case"? Why does a team with said talent come up so very short? and it is simply because of the greedy, old, decrepit owner. He has done nothing good since hiring Jimmy Johnson, nothing. And he fired Jimmy following back to back super bowls. You guys DO realize, had he not fired Jimmy after those two bowls, we would have had perhaps 4 or more in a row?!?!?!!??

This guy, the owner, has GOT TO GO. Regardless of cost, everyone should be doing everything possible and MORE, to get his guy to leave this club alone! He is the apex cancer of the entire organization, always has been, always will be!

Ii for one, am done watching this painful repetitive abuse. I simply will not allow my emotions to be placed into the hands of a greedy, old man, that is so narcissistic he cannot see beyond his own little, fragile psychopathic ego of greed, power, and loss. He truly has ruined the cowboys entire organization, the fans hearts, and all the players, RUINED THEM!

Good Luck, and God Speed!

Scott
I believe that’s about Stephens influence. Jerry wasn’t like this 15-20 years ago. Now he refuses to take any chances at all…as if he is trying to protect an inheritance. Hmmm….

They don’t build a roster, they collect players based on if they are worth the cost or not individually, by their own standards. Mind you they are unqualified to make those assessments to begin with.

They would rather leave obvious gaping holes in the roster than “overpay” for even one highly rated free agent.

How could anyone remotely attempt an answer without knowing who the replacement is?

Not sure, but it WOULD be better. A turnip would be a better GM than Jerry or his progeny.

Henry wanted to come here. Players want to come here. Other than getting a ring the biggest draw for a player is being in the spot light and Dallas gets them in the spot light. And we’ve had 3 straight 12 win season before this debacle

Jerry does nothing now, as opposed to 15-20 years ago when he would trade 2 #1 picks for a WR Joey Galloway or a 1st and 3rd for WR Roy Williams.

The only thing that has changed is instead of making big stupid trades he is now making smaller stupid trades, Cooper for a 5th, Lance and Mingo for 4ths.

Wouldn't matter much because he already extended Dim....we are screwed for 5-6 years, so there is ZERO right now to get excited about...even a new HC or GM isn't gonna change things much.

He once didn’t think about the cost and now he does. He trades for guys he won’t have to sign. Lance had years left, Mingo has years left. I don’t hate the Mingo trade but I can’t imagine anyone offered more than a 5th and we will have multiple 5th rnd picks so it would have been a good gamble

An established infrastructure with a knowledgeable GM in lockstep with his head coach as to the type players that they both share as their vision to compete for championships.

Both on 4 to 5 year contracts with expectation levels clearly communicated at their hiring interviews with the owner.

The owner/owner son limit their involvement to football operations to the point of signing checks only and leaving all football related and personnel decisions to the GM/HC.

And then hold them accountable as to their job performance.

This simple transition would finally ensure a respectable working environment/ culture to a professional football team.
