Does he dump Linehan and some O assistants for not succeeding without Romo and order a scheme/playbook change? Wishful thinking? Probably. But I figured I'd start a thread to see some hot names or ideas out there for replacements if the O still cannot get their arses in gear.

I've thrown three names in the hat Whisenhunt, Pep Hamilton (who I know the Colts fired), and Clyde Christensen.

I love the Colts O that uses singleback sets with some power 2 or 3 TE formations mixed in. Their problems under Pagano and Luck after Arians left are due to an awful D and awful Oline. They go 3 WR and spread the D out and run with whoever is their RB.

Extremely doubtful....Jerry won't alienate Tony Romo just because the offensive staff and system couldn't succeed without him.
If Tony lobbied for a change, there would be change, but I'm sure no one here thinks Tony Romo wants to learn a new offense....end of discussion.

Maybe some, or I hope some assistants, like Wilson, Brown, Dooley, Henderson. Hire a real DL coach. Replace Woicek as S&C coach.

Garrett, Linehan, Marinelli, Bisaccia are not going anywhere, nor should they.

Jerry leaves all these decision up to his HC, didnt you know that?

I wouldn't want Hamilton. He got fired for a reason.

The guy I wanted was Chudzinski, but he's probably permanently at Indy.

I would not mind somebody like Whisenhunt.

But in reality, I don't see Linehan leaving. Jerry just re-upped his contract, Romo likes him and I'm sure that Jerry thinks that the offense would have been fine if Romo was here. Admittedly, it is tough to fire an O-Coordinator that had a great season in the prior year and the offense floundered with his QB being injured. It's one thing to see the offense flounder with the franchise QB playing, it's another when you lose that franchise QB.

My guess is that the worst that will happen is that one of the assistants will be fire (Brown, Dooley, Pope, Wilson, etc) and they will have a group discussion where they will come to a consensus as to how the offense should be handled and the play calling. Perhaps taking more restrictions off that have been imposed by Garret or the opposite...more of a Jason Garrett influence.

lol, everyone should know the answer to that. Nothing changes no matter what positions coaches leave...

Well, we all know how that will turn out . . . . . . . . . . 8-8 here we come!

My friend, I really don't think so.

On defense, Lawrence, Douglas, Lee, McClain, Scandrick, and Jones are a pretty darned good nucleus to launch a quality defense from.

On offense, a healthy Romo and Bryant, added to a new and aggressive right tackle with a quality running back, (rounds 1 & 2), would change all bets on that side of the ball.

Resigning both McClain and Claiborne, and the depth can probably be improved as well.

My 3rd in value for next season, would be defensive tackle, and round 2 as well...but for the coaches, with team strengths, they are much more effective.

I want Josh McDaniel...
I doubt he leaves New England unless he is made Head Coach.....I'm ok with that also.

I think at his next stop, he will become a super coach. He was too young in Denver. But he deserves another chance.

Jason Garrett isn't going anywhere for a while. As I've been saying over and over again, Jerry has found his Tom Landry.

As for changes, they'll be minimal. The litany of injuries we suffered this season has bought almost everyone on the staff (I've already addressed Jason) a mulligan. But what I expect we'll see this year is ...

1. A quarterback at some point in this draft, one to eventually replace Romo but not one in the top of the 2016 draft.

2. A bell-cow running back. The Cowboys will not leave this draft without a running back. While McFadden has done an admirable job, he's not the plodder and pounder we need. If Derrick Henry is available in the second round, Jerry Jones will sprint to the podium faster than DH can run the 40. (Yes, I know JJ won't be at the draft, but you get the point.)

The day Jerry forces Garrett to change his scheme is the day he shows Garrett the door.

Exactly. How far can you strip Garrett of all his power before he literally has no input on the team? If Jerry wants a new offense Garrett is out.
