If Micah takes a team friendly deal, what does this say about Dak

I don't begrudge any person trying to make as much money as someone will pay them, especially in a job where your career can be over in a flash.
That's nice virtue signaling, but I don't agree if it kills any chance to build a team because three or four made men are soaking up all of the pie. It's why Tom Brady is the GOAT. He was willing to do whatever it takes to win SBs which included team friendly deals.

Does it say that Dak did the right thing sucking all the money he could out of Jerry? Or does it say that Dak really isn't about the team he claims to be about when he's on the podium saying all the "right things!" Maybe Micah will let Dak know about this one day like hey man,I took a team friendly deal bro, you're hurting us from being better! Dak will march to Jerry and will be willing to take a pay cut???
We really need to get over this. Every year salaries go up and in a few years, Dak will be towards the middle end of the pack. Besides, who is the fool here? The guy taking the money or the guy giving the money?

and before someone mentions Brady, he's the exception. He does not represent the NFL as a whole. We should be more concerned with things like Zeke's contract vs Henry's contract and why were told we couldn't afford Henry. Looking at cap space, there's some issues with Jones boys statement of being poor. and when you factor in cost versus production, Henry's deal comes way out ahead. Sure hindsight is 20/20 but I think we all knew Henry had more upside than Zeke in the beginning of the season.

how do you know? you just reach back far up and pull this one out? so NFLPA pressured him, but didn't pressure Love or Goff or anybody else. but they pressured Dak specifically.

and what team friendly deal? take 55M? really!!!? this is about 5M. you think this team can be fixed with 5M or even 10M extra on the cap?

not saying Dak is worth 60M or not. but all this other conspiracy driven drivel is just stupid
Micah will be the highest paid defensive player ever.

This is the great point people conveniently bury when they're criticizing players for the money they make. The owners have all the power to say, "No, that's too much," but they don't. It's proof positive that people begrudge players making a lot of money. It used to be that non-athletes could say they'd be better at life than "dumb jocks" but that's long ago now and folks are mad about it, lol.

To take it a step further this is literally why one has an agent. You get to say all the nice things while the agent handles getting in the weeds and getting you the most he possibly can. He gets his hands dirty so that you do not have to.
Exactly. Can’t believe anyone can’t see it. Micah says he wants to stay with the Cowboys. When he holds out refusing to risk injury on the “5th year option” everyone will look at Jerry as the problem. Jerry probably cringed when Micah said he wants to be a Cowboys player. Micah and his agent are already out in front of negotiations.

Brady was different in that regard from most NFL players, and even with that, he took over the top spot as the highest-paid NFL player of all time in 2022.

Here's an interesting article on Brady taking less. As the writer says, some parts of it don't make a lot of sense.

It'll say that both men made their own decisions. No one's "better" because they decide to take less, it's merely their decision.
You are aware of something called perspective right? I am a fan of the team and therefore everything I say is from the perspective of a fan of the team.

Imagine you sell blue paint for a living and your two clients are interior designers. One says their favorite color is pink. The other says their favorite color is blue. Do you treat them both equally even though you sell blue paint? Do you say to yourself well they are both men who made their decisions and that is that? Of course not. You go all in on the interior designer whose favorite color is blue because they are better for you and your long term success.

Do I like players better when they are on contracts that favor the team? You bet I do. Do I hate on players who have absurd contracts that drag the team down? You bet I do. It is called perspective.

Zero chance this is happening during a 5th year option. It is literally happening now. Parsons has fired the first shots out into the court of public opinion. He needs to protect his brand. He needs to be viewed as team first wants to win. The reality is that he will never step foot on a football field again unless he is the highest paid defender in NFL history. 5th year options do not apply in this case.

It says nothing about Dak. But, let's see what Micah accepts before we start this discussion. He sure seems to love himself some Micah so I suspect he wants the badge of honor of highest paid defensive player even if he gives that up to the next guy to sign after him. Personally I give Micah the huge deal he deserves and don't look back. This teams problems have been overpaying players who don't deserve it. That isn't Micah. He is a superstar.

The Cowboys will be Dak, Diggs, Micah, and CeeDee.

2 of those 4 will never play a full 17 game season again.

The rest of the team will be filled with nobodies.
I really hope they open their eyes and let Diggs go. He won't ever be the same and/or it will be years before he comes close.

Dak's been around long enough to know Jerry will shop at the dollar store in free agency regardless of his contract so he maxed out his deal.

I am not denying it. I think he will be. he was top 5 in Jersey sales in 23. he was top 10 in 24 despite injuries. Jerry sees dollars and he will sign him. to Jerry it doesn't matter. all he has to do is spend the cap floor and be semi relevant and will make money
