If Micah takes a team friendly deal, what does this say about Dak

A salary cap is anti- free market. I'm surprised so many people here support a salary cap and want players to take less money so that owners get a larger cut. Let the free market decide what the players get paid.

And if you think the players get paid too much, don't watch the games, don't buy tickets. Sports and entertainment is completely discretionary.
THIS. But the low brow Dallas fans don't understand logic.

Does it say that Dak did the right thing sucking all the money he could out of Jerry? Or does it say that Dak really isn't about the team he claims to be about when he's on the podium saying all the "right things!" Maybe Micah will let Dak know about this one day like hey man,I took a team friendly deal bro, you're hurting us from being better! Dak will march to Jerry and will be willing to take a pay cut???
I think it says the same thing, he doesn't care about the salary cap or leaving a slice for someone else.

It says Dak plays the QB position.

At some point we will see a team take a stand. Will it be the Niners? I doubt it. In fact it will most likely not be a playoff contending g tram. It will only happen to a team that is rebuilding, and their GM would be smart enough to trade their QB vs letting him walk in FA.

It says nothing. Stop pocket watching. Micah is going to be the highest paid defensive player in football. The only break he might give the Cowboys is he might take a dollar less then Chase.

Why would he take a team friendly deal?

It’s his first chance to actually negotiate a contract.

You can find a way to set the market and still be “team friendly” from a cap standpoint. Mahomes did it in 2020. It didn’t make the NFLPA happy but he did it anyways. I’m sure he’s happy he did as he’s going for 3 in a row.

We fans look at things from a totally different perspective then the whole rest of the NFL all we care about is a championship so we can pound our chest and say our team is the best.

For the players this is a job with a very short window of opportunity and very high risk for that opportunity to go out the window at a moment's notice.

A Super bowl trophy does very little to secure their future negotiating a huge contract with guaranteed money is what all their agents have school them to do.

Dak 100% did the right thing for his family and his future but completely stuck it to the fans of the Dallas Cowboys.

His buddy Micah will talk a good game make it sound like he's all in wants to win a Super bowl he'll blow smoke about a team friendly deal.
But in the end Micah is going to make sure Micah is taken care of because his responsibility is to himself and his family in the end not the fans of the Dallas Cowboys.

If you want to be mad at somebody be mad at Jerry because he could manage things different get rid of these players a year early instead of paying them a king's Ransom trade them while they have value get draft picks assemble a team primarily on rookie contracts and treat it like you want to win a Super bowl.

But Jerry doesn't care about the fans of the Dallas Cowboys either he makes money whether we win a championship or not.
So he does what makes him feel comfortable what is the easiest thing to do so he can spend time on his yacht not have to fight with a coach who wants to do things a different way.
And to end this Micah will absolutely not go to DAk and criticize him about the money he took.
It will be more like he will have him on the podcast and brag about the money he got and that he's the most well paid defensive player in the league. And the Dak is the highest paid player in the league and how great all that is.

They will commiserate and share in the fact that they are the highest paid players at their positions in the NFL at the expense of the fans of the Dallas Cowboys

Why would Micah just come out and say this out of the blue unless this is the stench that's floating around the locker room about Dak.
A team friendly deal with Micah might mean the structure of the deal. But he isn't taking 20 mil a year when the highest paid are getting 28 mil a year.

Yeah Micah will take a team friendly deal and Dak took the money for the brotherhood.

They're both a couple of bull spitters just like their mentor Jerry

Whatever it takes to sell the idea and get the money

That's stench is still from McCarthy's bed after last year's Green Bay playoff game

Just like everybody else here would do if they were in the situation.

Hate Dak all you want, but if any of you were in the position to create generational wealth none of you would ask for less money. I don't fault the man for maximizing his earnings. That's the modern athlete. There are no "home town discounts." Players now play for the money, not championships. It's about money first, championships second. Sure you could point to a few exceptions here and there, but in my view the large majority of professional athletes want to get paid first and foremost. I don't fault any of them for it.
