If Norv gets the boot in S.D, do you fire Garrett and replace him with Turner? I think I would...Garrett has consistently shown he cannot make adjustments when things are not going so well.
Not real sure what adjustment he can make when his Oline isn't interested in blocking. Sometimes you just get your *** whipped, gotta deal with it. I think Garrett's a keeper. We destroyed the Eagles twice, in a row and won our 1st playoff game since he was a player with him calling the plays. I week ago some were worried about losing this guy now you want to dump him. Give him another year I say.

I agree. And I believe Norv should be fired. I always though he was a dreadful head coach. It wouldn't shock me at all to see it happen.

That was the rallying cry after his offense faded down the stretch in 07, after the total collapse of 08, and its still being bandied around.

THIS WAS NEXT YEAR.

You saw his cluelessness today not to mention, the goaline series against the panthers, the short yardage situations against the chargers, hell every short yardage situation all year, every ******** toss to Barber... How much longer before we can expect the finished product?

I thought Norv got an extension recently

I think they started discussions in December when they were red hot. I'm not sure they got everything down on paper.

But yeah, watching Norv tonight continually feed the ball to washed up LT while the obviously more dynamic and explosive Sproles rots on the sidelines makes me realize how far the Garrett apple didnt fall from the Norv tree. If Garrett leaves, I would be much more interested in bringing Al Saunders if we're sticking with the Norv offense (personally I think Tony and Miles are ideally suited for a WCO) . Saunders has the taint of the coaching wasteland known as Washington on him, but if he can run the the NFL's #1 offense with Trent Green, I'd love to see what he could do with Tony and I'd love to see him utilize Felix the way he used Priest Holmes in KC.

That was before they won a post season game. Look i'm not saying he's perfect, he calls plays and switches personel at times that burns my butt. Having said that I think it's a mistake to dismiss him now, sometimes great results take a few years. Everyone wants stuff now, now, now. But I think sticking with him will payoff eventually.

As much as Garrett gets on my nerves he is young, and he has learned a lot from last year, I would think he'd actually take a huge step next year. So if you want to release Garrett, I won't cry about it, but at least bring in young blood.

What makes you think this? We had the 14th ranked scoring offense in his third year on the job, what is going to make the light go off in his head?

Im sorry but when you call some of the playcalls Garrett does (see any sweep/pitch to Barber) he shows that ignorance is not his problem...

Once had a math teacher that said ignorance can be fixed, stupidity is forever....

How the heck should I know? I do know this, if Jerry were to get rid of him now and he goes to another team and does great, Jerry and all of us will feel awful silly.

I wont, he never did the job here. The offense was top 5 in stats before we were graced with the Ivy League genius.

Well that's fine. You'll probably have to deal with him another year anyway, so there!:p:

Same here

dont get why people worry about guys leaving and being better somewhere else

all that matters is what was done during his time here.

Its probably because people are scared that we will piss away the next Sean Payton.

It wont happen though, Payton is from the illustrious Parcells coaching tree, while ginger just kinda got anointed by jerrah.

it has nothing to do with impatience

no one is talking about cutting losses after 1 season. this is guy with no coaching history who is going on season 4 working on the fly with us

i always see guys like antonio bryant and others who took years after leaving here to finally get it together mentioned. thats not even counting the time we spent here trying to develope them

if garrett leaves this yr then breaks out like a todd haley did well after the fact i could care less. with the talent we have on offense another coordinator could at worst step in be as productive
