If Parsons wants 30 million per year are you paying him?

I'm not saying that I like the thought of trading him. However, I do think it may be the right move. If we can keep him and Parsons, I'd be thrilled, but, if I had to pick one of the two, I'd keep Parsons.
It should work out. As new contracts come in, some of the old depart. Zeke is gone. Next year so will Pollard's. Tank and Tyron probably won't be on the books by the time the new guys are a significant cap hit.

Would you resign him for that amount? I have a feeling thats what he is going to be asking for. Lets also assume he continue to play like he has played up until now.
I dont care what the price is, if you have a dominating player that is worthy of generational talent than you make room for him.

The best defensive player in the NFL. Let it soak in....Pay this man. Trade Dak to Indianapolis for the 3rd pic in tomorrows draft. Wishful thinking everyone.

I can see that, and that's help us be able to keep them.

Dating all the way back to Dez...
At least he had done something in the 2 to 3 years prior leading up to the over paid contract.
Everything thereafter seemed a very unwise and poor return on investment as was the case with Lawrence and Zeke.
The contract given to Jaylon Smith was some kinda charity event and more a look at me hope and prayer of Jerry trying to show that his NFL doctor team really was better than the rest of the draft experts on draft day but for ONCE, they saw the error of their ways and cut him.

Dak's contract was and is as laughable then, as it is now.

So,
Parsons has pretty much earned his payday thus far.
There is just no crystal ball to judge whether his motivation will remain the same once becoming paid.

That's another part of the risk and reward process of being GM but ultimately comes down to what motivates a player to be great. The love of money or the desire to be the best regardless of the money.

Unfortunately in Dallas, second contracts normally don't stand the pay as you play test of time too well.

Hopefully Parsons can be an exception though.

Most teams that find a generational talent like Parsons go the extra mile to surround the guy with talent to help him and extend his career. Dallas is running him into the ground and you can tell at the end of the season he is worn down. They let him chase these stupid sack records. He shouldn't even be on the field in some of these 40 point romps.
