If Parsons wants 30 million per year are you paying him?

If you’re trading them you better get them on the market fast, closer it gets to look like a salary dump the harder it gets to get value.

Of course you pay it. By the time his 5th year option is up $30M would be an absolute bargain. He’s getting a lot more than that and will be worth it. You never worry about how much you pay generational type players. You piece in the rest around them and then laugh when someone half his talent level gets more the next year
:hammer:

Exactly!!!

Yeah, we got somewhere around a 2 year window. At some point the Cowboys have to shed big contracts. They can't just keep adding them. It would also be nice if the cap grew a little faster.

Sure, but there are some trades that should be made imo. Diggs is one, given some of the Cs in this draft, I may consider trading Biadsz, and I'd probably explore trading a few other players.

It's to the point now where I don't see any other avenue for the Cowboys but to trade him.

I would check the trade value but his asking price is going to keep some teams away.

I think he is a great player most of the time, he was not in those last two playoff losses to the Niners. You would think he would have learned something after his first playoff game saying he should be on the best player on the offense and they rushed for 169 and he was out of position when Samuel had the ball, by Shanahan's design.

One exceptional player can always be game planned out of the game as we saw with Ware. They would just let him wear down by the 4Q. We saw the difference when he got to DEN and they could use him more effectively and keep him fresh.

30M, and it would be more than that, for one A player is not better than 30M for three B players and a team stands a better chance of mitigating injury.

If JJ sees that Parsons is having a big impact when it comes to bringing in more revenue, they will sign him.

It is funny and sad that these players want these huge contracts then complain they are not winning because of lack of talent. Case in point....Prescott wants Elliott back but it is because Dak took the huge salary that someone else has to go. Parson wants the cash, then don't complain when the team has to bargain basement shop. It is why Dallas should trade down and get more picks, not far down but you need players.

Jerry has been waiting for his "War Daddy" since Charles Haley left, and he found him in Micah Parsons.
And Jerry's not going to pay to keep him?
:laugh: :lmao::lmao2::muttley:

Yeah, you pay him and figure out the rest.

Would you resign him for that amount? I have a feeling thats what he is going to be asking for. Lets also assume he continue to play like he has played up until now.
If I have a QB on a rookie contract, sure. While the cap has been increasing, tying up $80+ million in cap space on two players will leave holes elsewhere.

Parsons is probably going to get closer to $50m than $30m but it's going to be in 2027 lol

He’s probably going to get more than $30 million. TJ watt got $28. Nick Bosa will get $30+. Parsons a year from now is probably $35 million. Market keeps going up.

Tbf, I think trading Diggs is the right move. There's always CBs in the draft, and I could see us getting 2 1sts for him.
Yeah, Morris Claiborne worked out so well. What could possibly go wrong. I'm sure we could easily draft a corner who can get 17 picks in their first 3 seasons. Piece of cake.

Crazy these darn players want to be paid their worth by billionaire owners. Freaking jerks. The nerve.

This movement of trying to let parsons walk is cringy. We really have short term memories in todays’s world don’t we. This defense was TERRIBLE before Micah. Do you really want to go back to that?

I'm not saying that I like the thought of trading him. However, I do think it may be the right move. If we can keep him and Parsons, I'd be thrilled, but, if I had to pick one of the two, I'd keep Parsons.
