If you’re trading them you better get them on the market fast, closer it gets to look like a salary dump the harder it gets to get value.
Of course you pay it. By the time his 5th year option is up $30M would be an absolute bargain. He’s getting a lot more than that and will be worth it. You never worry about how much you pay generational type players. You piece in the rest around them and then laugh when someone half his talent level gets more the next year
Would you take a 3rd and a 5th for Micah? It would give us 9 picks this year.
And Diggs will want 20....Lamb wants his...and you still have Martin's deal...it's not pretty.
Yeah, we got somewhere around a 2 year window. At some point the Cowboys have to shed big contracts. They can't just keep adding them. It would also be nice if the cap grew a little faster.
He'll be worn out by then ... if we keep trying to make him full time DE.Likely 5th year option.
Then tag + tag.
He will be in his 8th year by then.
Worn out.
If I have a QB on a rookie contract, sure. While the cap has been increasing, tying up $80+ million in cap space on two players will leave holes elsewhere.Would you resign him for that amount? I have a feeling thats what he is going to be asking for. Lets also assume he continue to play like he has played up until now.
A QB? Doesnt the QB matter? If I have a QB on a rookie contract, sure. While the cap has been increasing, tying up $80+ million in cap space on two players will leave holes elsewhere.
Nice Rounders reference“Pay him. Pay that man his money.”
Yeah, Morris Claiborne worked out so well. What could possibly go wrong. I'm sure we could easily draft a corner who can get 17 picks in their first 3 seasons. Piece of cake.Tbf, I think trading Diggs is the right move. There's always CBs in the draft, and I could see us getting 2 1sts for him.
Crazy these darn players want to be paid their worth by billionaire owners. Freaking jerks. The nerve. It is funny and sad that these players want these huge contracts then complain they are not winning because of lack of talent. Case in point....Prescott wants Elliott back but it is because Dak took the huge salary that someone else has to go. Parson wants the cash, then don't complain when the team has to bargain basement shop. It is why Dallas should trade down and get more picks, not far down but you need players.
I'm not saying that I like the thought of trading him. However, I do think it may be the right move. If we can keep him and Parsons, I'd be thrilled, but, if I had to pick one of the two, I'd keep Parsons.Yeah, Morris Claiborne worked out so well. What could possibly go wrong.
