You mean the legal hit that everyone overreacted to because of how brutal it was and it was on a QB?
If Romo took a hit like Foles did Sunday..... Weeden will be the starting QB for the rest of the season...
would not bank on that Romo is a pretty tough guy when it comes to playing in pain. He has taken bigger shots than the hit on Foles
Tru but 2 back surgeries later... Also Foles took a lot of hits that game...
It wasn't dirty. It was just a brutal hit to an unsuspecting QB and everyone lost their mind about it.
Not defending any Skins on here, but the hit was legal. Foles just threw a pick and was attempting to run in the direction of the defender making him a "blocker" in the rulebook. As a blocker, any member of the intercepting team can engage him as long as it is not in the back or below the waist according to the NFL rulebook.
The defender made contact with Fole's shoulder, so it was considered a sideways block and 100% legal. The NFL has since ruled it a legal hit and there has been no fine issued for the hit.
Like another poster said, the QB either has to hit the ground or run the other way to be considered "out of the play". Now if the QB is running the other way and a defender chases him across the filed and blows him up on the opposite sideline, then its a penalty, a fine, and probably a suspension if the QB is named Manning or Brady.
Like I said, I am not defending any Skins players on here, but the hit was legal and not dirty at all.

Whom do you think would come to his defense if anybody?
We don't know the answer(yet? hopefully don't find out?), but if the answer isn't "they're all coming to his defense whooping whoever blindsided him" then they're all just pushovers. When a player (QB especially) gets hit like that, someone better come in (if not the whole team) and lay that person on their ***. If Dez, Smith, Witten, or someone else got ejected for putting that guy in their place then I wouldn't have a problem with it. Yes it would suck to lose them for the rest of the game, but the message it would send would be a lot more important. It would show fight, character, and that they have each other's back which isn't something you could say for this team the past 3-4 years.
If I recall correctly, when their leader on defense got crushed no one really came to his defense. And that just shows you a big part of the problem this team has had. Many of them do NOT (or at least didn't a couple years ago - especially on D) play beside one another, or stick up for another, and are a bunch of spineless pushovers with no fight. I think the tide's changed though.
wouldn't this be considered launching yourself into the player?
