If Romo took a hit like Foles did Sunday

Weeden would run out in hopes of getting hurt too so he wasn't forced to play :)

Seriously I do think that the whole team would.

We don't know the answer(yet? hopefully don't find out?), but if the answer isn't "they're all coming to his defense whooping whoever blindsided him" then they're all just pushovers. When a player (QB especially) gets hit like that, someone better come in (if not the whole team) and lay that person on their ***. If Dez, Smith, Witten, or someone else got ejected for putting that guy in their place then I wouldn't have a problem with it. Yes it would suck to lose them for the rest of the game, but the message it would send would be a lot more important. It would show fight, character, and that they have each other's back which isn't something you could say for this team the past 3-4 years.

If I recall correctly, when their leader on defense got crushed no one really came to his defense. And that just shows you a big part of the problem this team has had. Many of them do NOT (or at least didn't a couple years ago - especially on D) play beside one another, or stick up for another, and are a bunch of spineless pushovers with no fight. I think the tide's changed though.

This was an illegal hit and Taint was fined

The NFL fined Tate $21,000 for the block, according to Tim MacMahon of ESPNDallas.com. The league office says the block was illegal because Tate launched himself into Lee, striking him in the chest and chin with the crown of his helmet. Tate said after the game that he didn’t think — but didn’t know for sure — that the block was illegal.

It was less of a dirty play as Lee was pursuing the ball carrier...completely different than what happened with Foles. If he hadn't launched it would have been a great block, one every ones of us would have applauded if someone on Dallas made the hit.

No one came to Saun Lee's defense.

no one on our defense last year put fear in anyone. Ware as dominate as he was is a nice guy. Maybe hatcher maybe.

But that type of hit to a QB who wasn't really going to be in on the play was uncalled for. Could of just got in the way lol

Both were completely blindsided and drilled, if that had happened to Romo, our players better not have been pushovers and put 92 on his *** where he belongs. Sean Lee's was definitely worse, but in both instances you should have teammates come to the defense of the player that got laid out.

You honestly don't think players should've retaliated to that hit? You can say it's legal that's fine, but it was still a dirty shot regardless.

If a Cowboy had put that hit on Foles of course I'd be ecstatic, about time someone finally showed a little attitude and nastiness. And I wouldn't be too surprised when our player gets retaliated against either, because on hits like those you should always stick up for your teammates.

Hands down, Leary and Murray with Dez barking a lot! I'd hope someone like Martin would take a knee out on the next play to an important DL.

Is it just me or every time foles gets hit hard, it appears he's injured, he's screaming in pain but. ... Then comes back. . At least when Tony is limping he's banged up. ... I know I know I'm Awful for saying that

you wonder if it would even happen. romo has thrown many picks and he's tried to chase guys down. I've never seen him slammed. i feel like foles isn't liked outside of philly. he's definitely cocky as all hell.

romo is a lot more respected i feel like.

Whom do you think would come to his defense if anybody?

Frederick and Martin for sure.
If Harris was out there, he'd mix it up too. Maybe Dez as well.

Do you even doubt that?

This team has much more of an edge to it thane en 2-3 years ago.
Certainly more that when they played in Seattle. He'll, 80% of that team is long gone.

3 games in and honestly, I feel more concerned if we lost Demarco at this point.

T-Fred, Martin, Witten, possibly even Free, or whoever is closest to the drama...

To everyone asking why no one came to Lee's defense, the play was very much alive and Golden Tate just laid a huge block on him.

Wasn't even remotely dirty.

Remember that fight at the end of the Commanders game last year after Murray scored the game winning Td? Dez, Murray, Leary and Parnell were all ready to rumble. I think Parnell would've been the first guy throwing punches.

They better be lucky Flozell is not here. Remember when he tried to fight the entire Giants sideline
man I wanted to shed a tear after that td. we weren't getting punked like back in the Brandon Jacobs days. but even back in the day the offense weren't getting punked, always the defense. I'm still waiting for Wilcox to make his presence known.

Id put money on Dez and Frederick.

These are the first two guys who come to mind for me. I think those would be the guys that would be quickest to defend him.

I do think that Martin will be a guy like that when he's good and comfortable with his position on the team.

He got fined but Lee himself said it was a good block. It does look like he launched into Lee.

Plus I think someone doing that to your QB would be different than a LB.

Anyone remember I think the Giants WR who did something? I cannot remember the details but later in the game Roy Williams safety knocked him out on what now would be a penalty hit on a defenseless player.

I would hope the O line would kick butt.
As for Tony he would be in a wheel chair!

TY!!! All this chest thumping is just.not.the.case. Prove me otherwise next time. That hit, and the Harris late hit out of bounds make me hesitant to believe all these macho fantasies about our players ready to react, etc. Not one person stood up for Lee, and our HC side stepped Harris while looking at his play sheet.

I want see guys sticking up for one another I also want them to be smart, getting ejected from the game does not help the team. Fine line there I know

If your team is already getting punched in the mouth (SEA) what could it hurt to stick up for a teammate? Not Disney style (get em on the next play bleh)

Unfortunately the team becomes a reflection of their coach

They are two completely different plays. Lee is making a clear play on the runner and Tate's hit is technically LEGAL if he hadn't hit him on the chin. A few inches lower and it's a clean hit.

The Foles hit is a different situation. That's an example of a player taking a run at a QB who isn't involved in the play. While technically LEGAL according to the NFL, it's clear what Baker's intentions are there and it not to make a block to spring the ball carrier. It's to try to get a legal shot in at Foles.

I wouldn't expect retaliation against Tate because there didn't appear to be an intent to injure or Tate trying to take a free shot at an unsuspecting player. Lee is trying to make a play on Wilson and Tate blocks him. Baker took out Foles as the Commanders safety was already being tackled and Foles clearly wasn't trying to make a play on the ball.

I am puzzled how you can't see the very clear difference.
