It will be hard to gauge whether RW plays better this year or not. he won't be in on passing downs for the most part and will probably play closer to the line so he can be protected. If by "better" you mean he's only beat deep once a game, I guess he'll have a better season.

No, I got it. That's why I voted for Carp. But, you never defined what "better" is. He played horrible last year, so I was just looking for clarification. Do you have any to offer?

Awesome point.

I'm already on record saying Wade Phillips looks like a fat old lesbian, so I'll go with him. I like the guy a lot and think he's a really good coach, but if I understand the rules of the board right, that has no bearing on whether or not we can make a whipping boy out of him. We can make whipping boys out of good players and coaches, right? Or do they actually have to suck first? I don't think they even have to suck.

If he makes more plays, and yea isn't responsible for big plays. If he plays like he did in 04

That's a pretty big "IF" to get Roy off of the top of this list. He would not only have to play better, he'd have to play at a legitimate pro-bowl level before most would get off his back.
Everyone on the list could be next but this is impossible to answer until the season plays out. We would have to assume a lot of things for each one to make the list and you know what happens when you assume.

Pet peeve of mine: how do you define 'legitimate probowl level'? Clearly, you don't accept a legitimate pro bowl invitation as validation. Is there an actual qualitative scale you have in your head, or are we just going with a broad consensus of people you know who happen to agree with you?

Spears, he's a projected starter so will catch the most flack.

Wade doesn't get the praise when the Cowboys do well, so he won't catch as much when they struggle.

how about probowl where he is actually voted in and not an injury substitute......that obviously didn't remove him from whipping boy status this off season

For some people, it still would be Roy Williams.

Just about the only time in his career he wasn't a whipping boy was the final few games of his rookie season. He wasn't even safe in his second season, even though he tied for second in the voting for Defensive Player of the Year.
