I'll always be a fan as I'm just too invested to turn my back now. Even if I wanted to, I know deep down I’d always have one eye fixated on the Cowboys. That said, my level of fandom has been steadily dropping. This past season was by far my worst as a fan. I don’t think I watched a single game that genuinely excited me.

Hiring Schottenheimer will only make things worse, which is saying something.

People won’t let their kids be fans of this team due to the lack of care from the owner.

It’s not us - it’s the next generation that will just know the Cowboys as losers and refer to them as the Browns.

True fans don't have a choice. It's like trying to call mom's new boyfriend "dad" at age 16. Sure, you can say it, but you're never going to feel it.

I can root for the Bills but I nothing emotionally invested.

No one refers to the Cowboys as the Browns. The overreactions here...

No but i think I am going to take a step back. I have ordered the NFL pass for years. This year I missed 2-3 games. I will still watch, but I won't go out of my way.

Schottenherimer seems to somehow not only be in the mix, but the betting favorite to be the next head coach.

The guy they didn't have enough faith in to be anything more than an assistant OC to McCarthy.

The guy that if he left Dallas right now would not get any attention at all for an OC job and would probably get demoted to a position coach somewhere IF somebody wanted him.

I can't think of a more "we don't care at all" hire than Schottenheimer. This is basically just a tiny step above Jerry naming Stephen the HC.
I hear Stephen is behind this. The future looks bleaker after Jerry. He used to spend money at least. Now they spend on the wrong players, especially when they resign them early (ie Steele). They allow the price to increase for players they should sign and end up overpaying everyone. They need to hit a home run with the HC to cover these massive mistakes but refuse to do that too. Their bottom line is money, which they'd make even more of with a SB winning team but they apparently don't care. I wish I didn't because it would save me a lot of disappointment and shame.

There won’t be a new team. Just leaving the old one and basically becoming a casual fan after that. Honestly I’ve been hitting draft kings and it’s fantastic. So I’m a fan of whoever I bet that day, that’s about it. This past season went exactly like that. Saved some time every Sunday and made a few bucks in the process.
