If Schultz holds out mini-camp and gets fined, do we gain cap relief?

thats what I was gonna ask... so players used to hold out all the time, teams would fine them daily, then when the player signed the deal, the team would throw those fines in the trash and the player never actually lost any money. BUT, that isnt the case anymore, correct? The team no longer has an option to waive those fines. So if a player racks up 1 million dollars in fines from holding out, that actually will be paid by the player now, once they end the hold out.

I do not know if he has signed the tag. If he has not signed the tag then he cannot be fined for missing anything as he is technically not a Cowboy. The only way the Cowboys would get any cap relief in this case is if he did not sign the tag by the time the regular season rolled around and he missed games.

Meanwhile if he did sign the tag they could fine him for missing mandatory minicamp, but I am unsure if team imposed fines recoup cap space. Suspensions and missed games do but I do not know if fines do. For sure if there are workout bonuses that he would not earn (obviously not applicable when on franchise tag) it could be recouped but I am unsure if fines levied for missing workouts gain cap space.

The franchise tag was created for overrated players like our franchise player.

That's my understanding as well. Fines can no longer be waived. There's usually a handful every year. This year we kind of have an idea of who would, let's see what they do.

for those they would get cap relief.
he could potentially play hardball and sit a couple games but he can't play too much because he would remain their exclusive property if he doesn't earn an accrued season.

Terrance Steele is a bigger passing threat than those 2 guys. I'd use an extra ol'man before either of them. They're just blockers anyways

It sometimes takes a te 3-4 years for a te to develop into a player..

It's better to stock up in fa if ya need a day 1 starting #2 te like we do.

We need to take the top 2 te positions seriously as much as we use 12 personnel.

When ya got McKeon and Sprinkle as your #2 starter youre prolly not gonna be that potent of an offense.. Js
