If Shedeur Sanders is there in the 6th, draft him.

The draft show guys say he would be #2 over Milton.
Based on what? There is a reason he is dropping. Keep underestimating Milton. I would draft Shedeur though. He is more talented then Dak was as a thrower but I don’t know if he can even be Geno Smith. I want him to succeed because I believe this is a personal attack on his father.

I don’t think Sanders is a franchise QB. That alone doesn’t mean he’s not worth a 6th. That’s a great spot for a developmental backup QB

The problem is that there is no way that Sanders just chills and follows the plan. The drama and ridiculous circus that would ensue would be crazy even for the cowboys.

No thanks

He isn't worth the media circus as a backup QB. He comes here and there is an immediate QB controversy started by the media and fans.

More importantly the kid just isn't that good. He was an ok college QB hyped by Deion but there are other QB's I'd rather have that don't come with the headache.
Agreed, but in a league with 10 or so teams that are QB-needy, he probably should have been drafted yesterday.

It’s about not being worth the distraction. Jerry doesn’t care and would welcome it probably, but “quite candidly,” they can’t afford to throw away even a sixth on him, plus Milton is very much in his way. I’d probably get on board otherwise.

1. Yes I'm the 6th is ok for sanders.
2. This is not about Dak.
3 . This would be a message to Milton way more than Dak.

I doubt it happens at all because this team would have to trade Milton or sanders. Sanders is publicity stunt only. He doesn't have the mental faculty to handle the NFL.

Someone up thread called it the Sanders circus. I think that says something
Yeah I wasn't a fan of the Sanders circus in the 90s. I concede he helped us to our last super bowl win over the Steelers, but I think Sanders help build the monster we call Jerry Jones.

When Jerry took authority away from Joe Juraszek and said Deion could work out, or not in his own way. I see this as the start of players by passing the coaches and going directly to the owner. This started 30 years ago...Hmmm...What a coincidence that we haven't been back to an championship game since the coaching was neutered. Also hated that Deion would even join the defensive huddle half of the time, then Kevin Smith started doing the same.

Now he has a talented son (I've heard anyhow, I haven't seen him play) which has dropped him from his perceived 1st round status. Yeah I'm taking a full on pass.

If we do draft him, I hope its worth it.

If we're looking for a QB that 90% of his passes are deep bombs, sure, get him. We'll also need to make sure we have a full compliment of highly physical WRs that are prepared to adjust their routes to catch the underthrown ball.

If Shedeur Sanders falls and is there in the 6th round when we pick, we need to draft him.
I haven't made a post in over 3 years, I usually only add to threads so bare with me and hear me out. 6 quick points.

1st. Most 6th rounders are low risk draft picks that the Cowboys can easily move on from if it doesn't work out, including financially.

2nd. Have Shedeur/Milton/Grier battle it out in training camp...whomever wins is the backup, and move the 2nd option to the practice squad and the 3rd option cut.

3rd. Shedeur is a 1st to 2nd round talent, I've watched all of his games for the last 2 years. He's accurate, has a strong arm, not the strongest, but much stronger than Rush, and very accurate. He's smart, just takes a lot of sacks, and at times, he tried to force it to Travis Hunter because Hunter was always barking at him to throw him the ball

4th. He can sit and learn behind Dak for a couple of years, if not sooner.

5th. This sends a clear message to Dak, put up or you're out as soon as we can get you out. Having Shedeur behind Dak will either LIGHT A FIRE, or he is gone.

6th. If Dak happens to pan out, you can simply trade or cut Shedeur. But if Dak doesn't work out, maybe Shedeur takes you places, or move on from him. Either way, we move on from Dak if he doesn't improve, have a pretty good QB moving forward, or cut our losses and draft the next stud.

Conclusion: Milton is a 6th round draft pick, so no loss if you have to move on from either one, and that includes Grier. Seriously, I don't need another 6th round DT stinking up the joint, Shedeur is definitely worth a 6th round pick no matter what we think of his dad.
wow, there must be so much wrong with him that we don't know. he went from potential top 5 to now available in the 4th.

If he's there when we pick next we need to pick him.
He has fallen this far not because of talent but because no one wants to deal with the circus.

We have the man that can deal with the circus on our team the original carnival Barker Jerry Jones.
This has Jerry Jones written all over it the marketing the hype with a late round draft pick it's a win-win get it done Jerry
It would make things interesting around here. A lot of thoughts being shared. Lol

Agreed, but in a league with 10 or so teams that are QB-needy, he probably should have been drafted yesterday.
Probably so. But that is not our problem.

Let the Browns, Steelers and the Raiders deal with the Stephen A. Smiths and Jamele Hills of the world.

I think there was a little over evaluation by the general audience in regard to Shedeur’s projected ability in the NFL. Is that surprising though? The Sanders family and the Colorado Buffalos have been jammed down our throats for a couple years now with Deion constantly pushing the narrative that he had the 2 best players in America and Deion’s a wonderful salesman.

That being said, it’s difficult to make the case that based on skill set and game tape that some one shouldn’t have rolled the dice at the top of the second round.

Here’s a decent piece by si with a take on why Shedeur’s fall shouldn’t have been that surprising.

This guy can play, I've watched every game. He needs to work on some things, but that's why I suggested sitting a couple of years. If he doesn't work out, you won't lose much since he's drafted so low. How many 6th rounders typically make it anyways? I only said 6th because people around here would die if we moved up in the 4th to take him which I would totally do.

Doesn't Sanders want to start? He's not starting in Dallas for the next 2-3 years unless Dak gets hurt. He's probably not going to start anywhere in this league as it is obvious teams have taken him off their board.

He might go undrafted. Worse would be if a team like Cincinnati or Buffalo picks him up.
