Mussel loader and a bow and arrow!!! Those two sentences will have me laughing all day. Thanks (and no, I'm not being sarcastic).

Well what ever works. the Mussel loader won't be loaded but the other guns are. And there in a case so no one will ever accidently shoot them selfs. and the bow and arrow. What ever works. If I've got to stab then with it i would. But every other gun will work so i guess if anyone tried to get in to my house i'll give the mussel loader and the bow and arrow a brake. But the mussel loader isn't hard to load. At least the one we got isn't. So if i have time to load it then shoot.

I have a wife and two very young kids.

Yes, I would defend my family and home.

i will give you +1 points if you resort to using a bow and arrow in this situation.:laugh2:

What ever works i will use. Even if i have to stab then with a knife....... Then i run for my life or a gun. Or bow and arrow. But i'd use the gun first. Not the Bow and Arrows. So -1 for me.:(

I absolutely agree...whatever works. Just the thought of warding off a burglar with a bow and arrow made me laugh, effective though it may be.

As to the mussel loader...mussels are bivalve mollusks (clams). Not picking on you!! Generally, I could not care less about grammar and spelling on message boards but again, it was just the thought of shooting clams at bad guys that made me laugh. The weapon you're talking about is actually a muzzle loader. :D

In any case, remind me not to break into your house. Sounds like a terrible, terrible idea what with the heat you guys are packing.

"Why did you shoot him 30 times?" "That was all the magazine held"

Ha Ha. I can just see myself with a bow and arrow pointed at the burglar and him rolling on the floor laughing at me. As for the loader. We have nothing to shoot out of it. We just bought it 1-2 days ago from the Pepsi man that delivers the drinks to the store my dad works at and he's going to bring some stuff to load it with and teach use to load it. I have no clue about the loader at all. First time i ever saw one. And we still have 5 mores slots we have to fill up in the gun cabinet. Something about my family and guns. We just get along.

"You should have shown restraint" "I didn't use a second magazine, did I?"

My house was broken in to several months ago but we weren't home. I sure wished my 100 lb pitbull had still been around. They might have gotten in but they wouldn't have gotten out.

or pitbull might have been killed?

It depends. If they were going through my garage, I wouldn't care and would shoot a warning shot or something. Or if they just got in the door, I would also just shoot a warning shot. But if they were near a bedroom, then bang bang.

as long as they are in the house you can fill them full of lead; now if they are outside you need to drag the body inside the house.

Here in Mississippi , not only is it legal to shot someone that has broken in your house , it is also legal to shoot someone that threatens you on your property. The law reads that if the property owner has a right to shoot if he is fear for his safety ( inside or outside his home ). This does discourage people from going to a person`s house and stirring up trouble.

Get this, two police officers actually told my wife to do this if she ever had to shoot someone out of protection.

This was back in her single days and a girl's apt had been broken into near her. There had also been a rape in the area recently. She had a handgun and was trained to use it. The cops told her to just be sure the body was inside the house and nobody would even ask questions.

Gotta love Texas.

We were broke into a couple years ago (we were not home). I have to say that is one of the worst feelings I have ever had. Ironically the main items they took were ALL my guns. To answer the question YES if someone ever breaks into my house (while we are home) I would not hesitate to shoot them. Oklahoma has a “Make My Day” law on the books that gives citizens the right to use deadly force inside their homes. I have ZERO tolerance for a thief end of story
