I'm pretty sure nobody has to tell Russell what a bad throw that was.

I will be thankful when Tony can make a throw..any throw...in a SB. It's gonna happen.

Not one mention of what a terrible throw by Wilson that was. I am sure it should have been low and in the midsection so the receiver can just catch it and fall in the endzone since no YAC needed----and less of a chance of getting the ball knocked up in the air. The pass was high and led the receiver, and that's how the CB was able to make his move. I agree Romo would be raked over the coals on that and not only would the play be critiqued, but the way the pass was thrown would as well.

Actually, a lot of commentators have mentioned that it wasn't a good throw.

It's a lot easier to win Super Bowls when the officials don't steal momentum and possibly games from you (this applies to every team because the officiating determines outcomes). Or if you can get away with cheating. Boo hoo, I feel sorry for myself. And every word is true.

If all teams receive the same treatment, as your post declared, then how is it unfair? It may be outside of the rules, but then falls under the category of within the spirit if all teams are treated the same.

My beef is the constant whining by people about how this team is treated. I suspect most of this is by posters who were not around in the early 90's when everything was Dallas Cowboys and they were treated as Brady is now.

Maybe what is needed is for everyone to take a bite out of the adult sandwich and stop lamenting over something that will only be changed by success.

But then worrying about something I cannot control doesn't make sense to me. Carry one.

Ooh ooh, New England has something I wanted and didn't get so let me diminish their accomplishment to assuage my hurt feelings.

New England wouldn't have been in the SB had it not been for them playing high school teams on their way to the play-offs.

I feel better now.

It was a terrible play call by Carroll. A good throw by Wilson. A head's up play by Butler. And Brady is now being heralded as perhaps the best when the three things before this sentence were why.
There's the Cliff's Notes version for posterity.

I have read Facebook post by idiots saying "Wilson pulled a Romo" and lost the SB :/ The non-sense goes on even when Tony is not involved in the game...

I'm not a fan of the "what if" questions. Speculation of the hypothetical circumstances is kin to tabloid gossip.

If Romo did what Wilson did then he wouldn't be Romo. QBs distinguish themselves by what they do or don't do on a field of play. Peyton Manning is known for his ability to diagnose a defense and counter it on the fly, Drew Brees is known for his pin point accuracy, my point is these athletes don't normally do things contradictory to what they do.

In the beginning, Romo was a bit of a gunslinger and has been known to throw a stray pass but that's not the Romo that we saw this past season. With the addition of an elite offensive line and more than capable running game, Romo has not had to resort to the gunslinger style of play. This is what Romo is now, more careful with the ball, executes plays with precision. It would be out of character for Romo to make the mistake that Wilson made at the end of the Super Bowl. So I don't think the proposed question is really fair to ask.

Yeah, I have to admit... Romo does get more slack than any other QB, he just has to go get it next year. I promise that if he goes and gets it, the entire tune of America would change about him. I think most people secretly like the guy, including myself, but they can't give in all the way until he brings a championship. I think this next season coming up is Super Bowl or bust.

Romo would have thrown a TD, no doubt. :)
