Why is OK for Romo to be greedy? He was paid over 130m to QB for DAL and he won't accept being a well paid bak-up so he can chase a dream of winning a SB with a different team.....something he couldn't do here

He could help and mentor Dak and be ready to step in on a playoff team if needed ...all while staying in your new home with your wife and 3 kids.......sounds selfish as hell to me
Agree.

If it ended in a situation with that team member not being happy because I was greedy, it wouldn't be worth it. That's what would happen with a Romo cut throat trade to a team like the browns because they offered the most.

Word travels fast. How you treat people means a lot especially when you're a pro football team that hasn't won a super bowl since 1995.

Money isn't everything my friend.
Players aren't going to stop signing with the cowboys because we traded Romo to a less than ideal location. Stop with the hyperbole.

I see your point and I understand it, and maybe I'm greedy, but if I had a family to care for I would still try and make the most dough I could, regardless of how much I may or may not have.

So now you're painting Tony Romo as some selfish jerk?
What the heck is wrong with you?!

People like you is what is wrong with me

You have your lips firmly attached to Romo's tuchus like he is a God

He is just another in the long line of Cowboy football players.......if he wants to keep playing that means he wants to stop us from winning the SB.....so I say screw him

You want to reward him and help him do it.....so I say forget you too

Greed is fine but it is good for DAL and for Romo

I want to get the most out of Romo that I can get just like he wants to get the most he can get.....money, destination, rings

The idea of releasing him to help him achieve his goals at our expense is ludicrous....why let DEN keep their 1st round pick if Romo instantly makes them the SB favorite and it hurts our bench

It is like the fanbase is taking crazy pills......Romo is worthless to us but invaluable to a dozen teams??????

Hold on bro, I've never said we should cut Romo, i think that would be stupid, we have to get what we can while we can, I think that's pretty close to what I've been saying all along. Cool it.

A lot of Romantics are pushing for his release because that would be nice

If you aren't then it doesn't apply to you.....but Romo is still being greedy and selfish and that is his right

I just want DAL to recognize that and get whatever they can squeeze out of him

I agree, just not the selfish part, but we should get whatever we can for him, not let him go for free, I don't care if the Browns come calling, best draft pick gets Romo. We have paid him well, this is a business, and we don't owe him anything.

You actually think you can force him to play for the Browns? Really?
You guys need to stop and think this through.
No team wants a QB unless they want to be there. They will not offer unless that is confirmed.

Romo will work with the Cowboys as he always has. He grabbed his ankles last year, so some here, not you, are delusional if they theink he'll continue to do. Nobody would.
He has always taken the high road.
He will try to do whats best within reason....and so will Jerry.

Depends on who is available. Eight spots in the first could be very beneficial. Besides, it's better than just cutting him. Honestly, I don't think Elway would drop eight spots for Romo. Too many questions with his age, health and him not playing in two years.

I think Denver would be all over that like a big dog on a toy poodle

Just a side note: I find it interesting that Jacksonville hasn't yet taken out the 5th year option for Bortles.

Jacksonville is more of an option than most people realize. My initial reaction is that Romo might not want to play there but isn't Coughlin back? That changes things considerably.

It'd be nice to get Houston and Jacksonville involved in a small bidding episode.

Denver is in lay
I think Romo has 3 years and 54 million left on his deal.
Those trading fro him are also trading for that. I'll leave it to all the varying opinions on if that's a lot or not. But when you trade for a player, it's not just draft picks, you are also paying for the contract unless redone.
He will want at lease guarantees, though I doubt he cares if the contract itself is huge.

I think he doesn't have much of an option except play out his current contract.

Yeah...i guess they could re-work and downsize it some, but with some guarantees. But Who knows.

Otherwise....
I think of maybe 6 things that could happen
His 5th favorite would be to retire...enjoy his family and life
His 6th favorite would be to play for a crappy team

In other words, I'd think he'd back up Dak here or retire before he'd play in Cleveland:laugh:

If the Broncos want Romo, the Cowboys need to have him redo his contract and trade pick 28 and Romo to Denver for pick 20. I can't see them releasing Romo when they can do this and how in the world is Houston not trying to get Romo? The Cowboys trading Romo to Denver seems to make sense and is the best fit for Romo.

No way. To move up 8 spots. I'd give them Romo and our 2nd. Not our first. But that's just me.

Romo easily puts the Broncos in the playoffs. If Broncos don't want to pay that then, they can go ahead and NOT make the playoffs. I don't care.

He's like a son to Jerry...Jerry isn't gonna do him wrong, Romo's destination won't be some dumpy non contending team.
