Mixed emotions. Hatred and Jealousy right off the top of my head. But I also have to give them props and some respect for pulling off what they did. They seem to peak at the right time.

What will that say about our Cowboys? I still feel as though we are on the cusp.. Would a Gnats Super Bowl win change the way any of you feel about the state of the Cowboys? As much as it makes me cringe to believe so, they are no pushover and they're giving GB all they can take right now. The front office is making some strong early coaching moves and will undoubtedly be busy in FA.. Add another solid draft to the mix and we are looking much better next year. I'm not trying to pump sunshine. I just want to know your thoughts with regards to how the Gnats play might make you feel about the state of the team based upon how we played them this season.

I don't think we are close enough to any of the NFC teams that played this week in character, situational play, and coaching to be able to make a playoff impact even if we do make it to the dance.

When year after year our Boys finds new ways to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, it speaks to a lack of finish that extends even to our core parts.

I believe a lack of depth in talent is the main reason we had a weak December, with weak coaching being the 2nd reason. In that respect I expect we'll be better next year and give ourselves more of a chance to challenge for a playoff spot.

But I also believe based on our track record the last several years that ours is a team that doesn't know how to handle good fortune, is prone to complacency, and lacks the killer instinct and focus to close the deal in consecutive important games. Not even Romo is immune from that criticism though he's more capable of getting on a roll than much of this team. This is a more fundamental problem that will take at least 2 years of culture change from top to bottom to fix. Until it is fixed, I don't expect for us to be contenders even if we make the playoffs.

I don't hate the Giants, though I love the Cowboys. I think they are a team to be respected. They had a **** ton of injuries early in the season, a tough schedule and were in a vulnerable position in the division late in the season. Yet they overcame all those issues and are now playing fantastic football, that I for one, enjoy watching.

If the Giants continue to play like this I don't think they would be undeserving of winning the Superbowl. I think all of this comes down to leadership and coaching and I hope that next season the Cowboys staff can inspire their players to similar heights.

I hate the Giants but respect how they've built their team over the years. And even though they are our bitterest rivals, I always root for NFC east teams to win in the playoffs to show the rest of the league that ours is still the baddest division in football.

He is better. If he had a good O-line and defense like Eli does he'd be playing in the NFC Title Game as well.

You said it. HAD. Not anymore. There pass rush looks better than it did in 2007 and now they are running the ball to. I don't think the lose another game and to think if the refs don't blow the call on the Cruz fumble against Arizona, we are not even having this conversation.

..I mean if we look at last year and we lost Romo for 2/3 of the season, then had him miss no games this year and only improved the record by 2 games..

..we are not improving at all.

At this point, the Jints are out of reach for us at this point and I'm truly more worried about Philly.

Philly never let us in either game we played them. While we were able to score and be competitive against the Jints in our losses.

We are looking at going back to pre-Parcells rebuilding here going forward under Garrett.

And I really do not think Romo will do anything but start tapering off as a QB going forward as this team has to go thru this rebuilding. He's already been the spearhead of a rebuild under Parcells and hasn't gotten it done. We've already gone thru 6 seasons with him and the best the team has done is win 1 playoff game under him.

I just don't see Romo and this team over the next 3 years under the extensive re-building coming as beating our own division teams much less taking home a World Championship.

Which means to me, we need to draft a QB right now to start getting him ready behind Romo to be ready to take over after we have endured 9 years of non-success under Romo.

I hate to say this, but to date, Romo has been a cheap replacement that the Valley Ranch spin-doctors have promoted as being a top-flight QB in the NFL, but he isn't. Heck, Yates of the Texans has as many playoff wins as Romo after only one season in the NFL. Even Tebow has him tied after 2 years in the league.

The numbers don't lie.

So yes, the Jints winning another SB this season would be a crushing indictment of this franchise and it's non-progress. As well as the group of players responsible for the futility drafted and signed under Parcells/Phillips/Garrett.

If we are going to ever catch the other teams in our division, we are going to really have to look in the mirror and cut some deadwood now and lose for a couple more years.

Tough pill to swallow..but it's going to have to happen sooner or later.

All It really says is that momentum means everything in sports. Take A look at the St. Louis Cardinals, for example. In football even more so. The teams playing hit in December are the ones usually left standing in the Superbowl. The teams who back in or rest their starters are usually one and done.

So what does it say about our Cowboys? Need to play better in December.

And they were 7-7 through 14 games, one game worse than the Cowboys at that time. The difference between the 2011 Giants and the 2011 Cowboys isn't that Eli was able to carry the team on his shoulders and Romo wasn't, it's that the Giants as a team are playing their best football at the end of the season, while the Cowboys as a team played their worst.

Compare the Giants in games 1-14 with the Giants we're seeing now.

On top of that we also don't have the mental makeup it takes to win. We don't. It's sad and frustrating. I just wish for once people just accept what we are. A mediocre football team. That's what we are and have been for 15 years
