If the suspension holds, Zeke was the wrong pick

From the NFL domestic violence conduct policy:

"Violations involving assault, battery, domestic violence or sexual assault will result in a baseline six-game suspension without pay, with more if aggravating factors are present, such as the use of a weapon or a crime against a child. A second offense will result in banishment from the NFL."

Zeke just used his one free strike. A second and he's out of the league forever. We've already seen how much control the NFL has over this process, and that won't be changing anytime soon.

Zeke had character flags on draft night, and we've seen them come to fruition. His parents said they were worried about him handling fame. His college coach said he's worried about him. Joey Bosa had to change roommates because Zeke partied too much. There were rumors of drug use, which text conversations all but confirmed. The writing was on the wall. The risk was too great.

On the field, Zeke is special and absolutely worthy of the investment. But how can anyone here feel good knowing that the next time the league decides he assualted someone, he's out of the league for good? And that's all it takes: the league deciding it happened.

If Zeke's lawyers pull out a miracle, I'll gladly eat my words. But if Zeke is truly is on his last strike, he's wasn't worth the investment. He has a lot of growing up to do and no margin for error.

Zeke is a knucklehead and he'll do something else that's stupid because he just doesn't get it so enjoy his talent while we have it.

It took him a whole year to find himself in this kind of situation. He's taking the Johnny Mansfield path out of the league.

I'm just curious if you actually read the investigation report, or the appeal?

Also from all your other dribble posts in the other thread his attorneys are arguing fundelmental fairness. They can't argue in the merits of "innocent" because of suspension, but because he is innocent and the lead investigator did not believe the accuser just like the cops, and she was left out of the decision along with her findings they have a case.

This thread . Honestly. The guy didn't do anything except hang with the wrong woman and he's a bad pick? Wonder how the giants felt about the Taylor pick....or the ravens about Ray Lewis....give me a break with this already

I'm with you. I think the policy is a joke. But it is what it is. That doesn't change the fact that Zeke is on his last strike. Strike 2 and he's banned. I'm not saying any of this is justified--I don't think it is.

Anyone who was against the pick has been having a field day...

I drafted the guy this year in fantasy and am a die hard Cowboys fan. I was here yesterday refreshing every few minutes hoping for good news just like the rest of you.

It's so easy to call someone a troll, but maybe lets have a conversation instead?

Pretend it's an injury and move on. Micheal Irvin and Lawrence Taylor managed to have HOF careers. Why not Zeke? Who knows this may snap him out of it. Or at least snap him out of getting caught.

I said IF the suspension holds. I think it will, but that's a different conversation.
