If the suspension holds, Zeke was the wrong pick

Zeke is a knucklehead and he'll do something else that's stupid because he just doesn't get it so enjoy his talent while we have it.

It took him a whole year to find himself in this kind of situation. He's taking the Johnny Mansfield path out of the league.

Maybe not a fair comparison? I don't think anything Zeke did was on Billy's level.

If the suspension holds, Zeke is terrible but if it doesn't he's good. Ridiculous.

It is ridiculous. Who said that?

A 22 YO with maturity issues having no room for a second misstep is a bad situation. Whether or not he has a strike on record is a huge deal.

I drafted the guy this year in fantasy and am a die hard Cowboys fan. I was here yesterday refreshing every few minutes hoping for good news just like the rest of you.

It's so easy to call someone a troll, but maybe lets have a conversation instead?

You're hung up on "conspiracy" yet it doesn't sound like you've followed along.

Drafting Zeke in your fantasy league means nothing, you stated above wrong pick. Am I wrong? No, I'm not. I didn't call you a troll, but good try. Also, Zeke legal team is arguing fundamental fairness. If you care to understand I posted it in another thread. You throw things out such as "conspiracy" to garner attention. Look no further than last night/yesterday with how Henderson and the league office handled the upholding suspension, yet waited till they were losing in court to release it. Judges are not that stupid, and they see what's happening here. They have to answer why Kia Roberts findings were held out of the report. The NFL can not use friels "cumulative" argument as her "findings" are polar opposite of Roberts.. Good luck NFL lying your way outta that one.

From the NFL domestic violence conduct policy:

"Violations involving assault, battery, domestic violence or sexual assault will result in a baseline six-game suspension without pay, with more if aggravating factors are present, such as the use of a weapon or a crime against a child. A second offense will result in banishment from the NFL."

Zeke just used his one free strike. A second and he's out of the league forever. We've already seen how much control the NFL has over this process, and that won't be changing anytime soon.

Zeke had character flags on draft night, and we've seen them come to fruition. His parents said they were worried about him handling fame. His college coach said he's worried about him. Joey Bosa had to change roommates because Zeke partied too much. There were rumors of drug use, which text conversations all but confirmed. The writing was on the wall. The risk was too great.

On the field, Zeke is special and absolutely worthy of the investment. But how can anyone here feel good knowing that the next time the league decides he assualted someone, he's out of the league for good? And that's all it takes: the league deciding it happened.

If Zeke's lawyers pull out a miracle, I'll gladly eat my words. But if Zeke is truly is on his last strike, he's wasn't worth the investment. He has a lot of growing up to do and no margin for error.

Well you're certainly a burst of sunshine, aren't you? You got any good news?

I never liked the pick, and I don't expect the Cowboys to suffer all that much with Elliott out for 6 games assuming, and it's sort of a big assumption, that another player like Dez or Beasley or whoever can replace the big scoring plays Zeke gives us pretty regularly. I think they could, though.

It's a pretty good argument that spending a top-4 pick on a RB was a mistake in the first place. Spending it on a RB who's missing a third of the season in his second season for a personal conduct suspension make the argument a lot stronger. If Bosa had actually been there, it'd be a stronger argument yet, but the fact is we did go ahead and do a nice job adding some DBs to this defense anyway. So I'm not going to complain. What's done is done. Now we just have to hope he's smart enough to keep his nose clean after that. The St Patrick's Day thing has me not holding my breath about that, either, but whatever.

One thing's for sure: he's a hell of a football player.

I sweat some people just lay awake at night thinking of ways to start a thread, and wanting to get attention.

Pathetic

Interesting. I'm pretty sure his letter from the league read that a second offense 'could' or 'may' result in banishment. I wonder if they watered it down a bit in the letter to Zeke.

the fact the Supreme Kangaroo Court of the NFL is railroading him does not make it a bad pick.
That is like saying taking Jalen Ramsey was wrong if he had torn his knee apart in the first game.

Zeke had maturity red flags; there was nothing to suggest Ramsey would tear his knee.

I do get you're point though. I guess I should change my wording. It's not fair to say it was the wrong pick at the time, based on information that came to light after the fact. I think we all agree Zeke needs to grow up, but I'm not sure there was anything there to suggest he would assault someone. But, with the beneift of hindsight--which we have--still picking Zeke at 4 will have been a mistake.

If you want to tell yourself this is all fine and will blow over, be my guest. I'm trying to have a real conversation about a sticky situation that we find ourselves in.
