If the top 11 go something like this, who is your guy?

I trade with Houston and get their first and 3rd THIS year and their 2nd next year. I then send that 3rd to Detroit and get Jameson Williams.

Yet recently we've had two drafts where we traded down,
one we got Guyton and BeeBee and the other one we got Parsons in OSA ..

so we can assume both could it be possible today, both can be true, stay Pat or trade down, guess what? stay tuned reality TV at its best tonight 7:00 PM CST!!

So the great thing about this place social media is you get to have your opinion and I get to have mine and I'm telling you that I prefer the trade down because I think they're all a risk every wide receiver and running back on our list probably would be better off if you trade it down to get one or the other...

I think Simmons is a stud and we would have bookends for years. Get a stud RB with the 2nd pick. Dak is most effective when he has an effective running game to support play action passing.
 
I’m not a fan of our pick but if a trade down is unavailable, I would just pick the best on my board regardless of the position. We have plenty of holes.

I haven’t watched a lot of Breece Hall but he has been rumored as potentially available for a day 3 pick. If he could be had for our 5th or if we could acquire a 4th, could he fill our RB need and allow us to focus elsewhere?

He is on the last year of his rookie deal and I’m not sure what his market value will be moving forward.

Well I can tell you this it would be ultimately insane to pick him at 12 if you want him you need to get down into the 20s you need to find a trade partner and yes he's on our list May not be on everyone's list but the duty responded to you that says he might be go top 5 is insane this is one of the deepest running back classes I've ever seen this would be the time you pass on i'm running back in the first round and still get a first round caliber back in the second or third round.. But yes I believe if they don't get one in the first round more than likely it's the 2nd round but no later than the 3rd round.... If one of your top 4 running backs is there at 44 you take it if not then there's three others I take in the third round so there's plenty depends on how the draft moves is how this is all going to workout..

The reason he behind this is much harder to find one of your top four wide receivers at 44 most of them are probably going to be gone whereas lucky earlier this year it's his first collection, Most of the running backs will still be there.

So in a 12 post and 12,000 word rant that went all over the place .. you’re telling me you like Matthew Golden and reference Xavier Worthy, the 28th pick in the draft. There was also a Kadarious Toney reference among other WR’s.


1) A trade down option is not always available. Sometimes you have to choose a player at your spot.
2) I wouldn’t completely skip on drafting a WR just because he’s from Texas. There was a slight joke in there about being “scared off”, but that doesn’t mean undraftable. This board has at times massively overhyped Texas players and I’ve seen some Golden hype that is a little head scratching. When someone here hypes a Texas player I take it with a grain of salt.
3) No one takes Xavier Worthy, Toney or many others you reference at the 10ish pick. I would assume most people would not take Golden there either. I’m not saying he’s undraftable or a 3rd rounder, just a lot of questions for the 12th pick.

The question is, without a trade back and those guys gone… who do you take and why?

Ok…. Umm… So… this post is what they call a hypothetical situation. In this particular hypothetical situation no one wants to trade up, no matter your preference or how badly you need or want to trade back. You need to make a selection at 12. I’m not forcing you to answer, but that’s what other posters and I are talking about here.

The scenario listed is not even my preference or opinion. I would very much consider a trade back depending on who’s left. This is just a hypothetical, what if, situation and I’m interested in who other people would choose if placed in that situation/scenario. The real draft tonight doesn’t work like Madden or some online simulators you may have played.

If you need me to explain the meaning of hypothetical situation or scenario let me know.

Maybe you don't understand it doesn't matter where they went in the draft as long as they're good NFL players where they are picked doesn't matter just like Prescott went in the 4th round wilson went in the 3rd round brought Purdy last player taking in the draft tom Brady 6 round pick do we need to go on and on and on i'm telling you there's a Texas wide receiver that's adjusting fine to the NFL and it does not matter where he's picked as long as the pick actually turned out to be good...

And by the way I got more rants coming i'll go on a diet tribal all I want because you asked and then you sit here and do what everyone else does with picking Texas and other people picking Michigan and saying stay away stay away without even putting all the positive posts texas has a lot of good players that have come out the last 2 or 3 seasons and more to come i'm telling you I used wordy he's 20 pounds heavier and almost as fast and I'm telling you how do you know the other three are better because what they're bigger like leggette and like Mingo and I can keep going would you like to keep going there's a big receivers that have been draft busts as well...

I'm trying to tell you is there's not a gap there's very slim gap between the four top wide receivers and Golden's one of them so at 12 really none of them are worth the 12th pick but the Cowboys front office and coaches must decide which one fits their offense best which one they have the best feeling about and that's where they take him at 12 you just have to live with it if they can find a trade partner to move down that would be best for any of the four wide receivers..

That's what you don't understand if the pick turns out to be the right one and they turn out to be good players great players Hall of Fame players it doesn't matter where they were chosen it matters where they're valued by the team that's picking them do you not understand that guys are picked way too high or way too late all the time the draft is not a perfect scenario and I know you're not a professional so you might want to step back from your judgments of my replies because I'll do this because I use talk to text and I'll abuse it all day long to make my point you won't budge off yours so I'm not budging off my...

I'll say it again any receiver or running back for the Dallas Cowboys in the first round that are being evaluated as first rounders are all pretty much overrated for number 12 it would be best to move down and get one of the four top wide receivers if not you live with whatever the front office and scouts and coaches decide not with the little pundits over here in the media or even the mock drafts or especially here..

Wait a minute are you will mcclay I mean are you a professional scouting department because they're high on Golden for a reason they look at his potential and I've been saying it I would prefer to move down so if you give me any scenario where you put in another receiver because he's not from Texas I'm telling you you're also picking him too high they all have some issues and warts that they will need to iron out to be good NFL wide receivers..

I mean you need a scenario where you know that CD Lamb dropped to 17 right now in a redraft he probably goes in the top pot it happens it happens all the time players are picked too high too low some go on drafted I don't see your point as long as the player succeeds it does not matter if he was picked twelfth or twentieth..

They're all hypothetical your opinions are not more valued than mine we are not scouts we are not professionals and there is no more talk about this I said what I needed to say i'm standing by it and if you meltdown because they kick golden at 12 that'll be even more cherry on the cake for me that you're going to have a meltdown about it and I'll be happy they all are TBD there isn't a player in this draft that's a lock Hall of Famer or a pro bowler or guaranteed to live up to wherever they're picked.TBD
YOU do know TBD Pretty much holds true for all draft picks nobody's guaranteed to be good but let me give you a scenario just Davion Clowney and Chase Young went number one and number two they were considered a top pass rushers by all the pundits that professionals the Scouts fans really wanted them big names over here and what have they done for their careers they didn't move up to the hype that's for sure this is what you have to deal with in the draft nobody's a guarantee you pick who you think you value on your board and that would be real professionals scouts the coaches not you not me we're just talking this is gonna happen no matter who they choose it's going to be a risk I don't see a locket number 12...

But again I'm going to be very happy if they pick Matthew Golden and you and anybody else that has a big problem with it and have a meltdown and it ruins your day that'll make me extra happy I'll wait and see what he does on the field come September before I make any kind of evaluations for any of the draft picks..
