But to me still..

Quinn is a bottom line insurance in the event the deal does not get done with Tank.

Ideally..yes.

He is in addition to Tank. But if Tank continues to not have his surgery he is not going to be ready.

And assuming it does happen and when..that elevated Quinn to the #1 pass rusher. He replaces Tank as the main man.

And we have no idea if after the surgery, Tank plays like the past. It's unknown.

I think the team has to assume this is not just about the money.

It's about who is playing.

As far as some believing Quinn is a RDE exclusively..

Ideally, yes.

But DeMarcus Ware played LBer, DE and occasionally inside trying to use him effectively as he was the only talent the DL had.

So I expect Dallas to draft at least 2 DL in the draft early to help the defense missing Gregory, Irvin and Tank.

That's part of Quinn's role now.

I think Dallas did well picking up Quinn.

Watching how Dlaw is acting over this contract, I say TRADE his butt and get us another good low 2nd pick... or maybe even get us back into the 1st... dude is showing the same inherent greed shown by most of these players who think they are the be all end all.... just trade him, cowboys matched his 1st offer, then he goes and ups it. I say to hell with that, and it looks as if we may even get Gregory back....send Dlaws butt over to some basement dwelling team to maybe show him he should appreciate what he has here.

Quinn is no D. Law. over the last 2 years Quinn has 15 sacks, and D.Law has 25.
At best Quinn is filling the hole created by the pot head.

I don’t think Quinn changes anything
He’s better than Gregory was last year as a pass rusher
But without tank or someone to replace tank our pass rush will suffer

Quinns not his replacement but hes good insurance just in case and even if he gets signed , he gets a late surgery that keeps him out 4 games, we need Quinn , Taco and Armstrong to hold down the fort.. still late releases and other DE still out there..in a worst case scenario a deeper rotation to try and find sacks from other guys..more blitzing im sure if necessary..

Its a wash right now both staring each other down , neither has the upper hand IMO..im sick of the drama but it was expected..Tank is WAY overvaluing himself and holding up contract talks for others because this has to eb resolved to see where we stand with Cap numbers..
