and it is not out of the realm of possibility considering their ages, we are screwed. does anyone have any faith that crayton, hurd, or austin can do anything to take up the slack? i dont. jerry had a very good draft, but it would have been in our best interest to go after a guy like dj hall or bowman considering they have as good or better talent in my opinion than the other undrafted free agent wr's that litter our roster. if character is such an issue we wouldnt have signed pac man or tank. dj hall is better than any of our other udfa wr's. i watched hall for 4 yrs at alabama and he ate people up. he was suspended only ONE time not 4 or 5, and then only for one half. he had a shoulder injury in the bowl game. he has dynamic talent, he just didnt jell with saban. we made a mistake not going after him. he is alabama's all time leader in catches, yards, and td's. ask around the sec and see how they felt about facing him. the gints got a steal. and no, this is not a homer thread bc i went to bama, i just think he would have been able to unseat crayton as the three guy. if crayton catches that 3rd down pass against the gints, wide open, we dont lose.:banghead:

Ir Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne both go down with injuries....

We'll still have a solid passing game as we'll still have Crayton and the versatile Felix Jones but most importantly we have Witten. Just check out Antonio Gates and Tony Gonzalez - two examples of TE's who have perennially excelled with virtually no support from the WR's. We'll be fine.

Also, there'll be some vet WR's cut when teams pare down their rosters during the preseason, so if one or two of Hurd/Austin/Stanback looks stinky, we'll be able to replace him/them no problemo.

IF any team loses their starting Wr's they are done. What's the point?

Are they smarter than a 5th grader

You're not going to have either a reliable, budding or Pro Bowl-caliber guy backing up every Pro Bowler. It's unfortunate we don't have more depth at receiver. It's really one of the few positions, along with quarterback, you'd consider us screwed if we had a long-term injury.

But like the poster above said, a lot of teams are in the same boat. The Panthers don't have a Plan B for Steve Smith, the Patriots lack a guy to take Randy Moss' place, etc.

Tony Romo's success hinges in large part on TO's success and health. We definitely need to get younger at the position, but even had we drafted a second-round guy, it wouldn't have done much to alter how much we will depend on TO's health.

Use your imagination.

3 TE base set. Championship. Duh.

i shoulda known you guys would respond that way, knuckleheads. tear down your fellow cowboys fans for their opinions. i expect that from you. romo is no manning btw and cant make any reciever look good. thx for an intelligent response. oh and marvin and reggie arent 34 and 33 respectively genious. take everthing to the extreme morons. its only conjecture but worth thinking about. i love our team but we dont have the talent or coaching indy does to overcome those obstacles. "oh, what if the entire team goes down with injury?" why not have an intelligent debate about it instead of being smart *** jerks all of the time

Was such an immature response necessary? Chill out, Nancy.

the point is i wanted some intelligent response and you obviously are incapable of that.

So you chose to respond by .... sinking the discussion to an even lower point. Gotcha.

What sort of answer did you really expect? It's quite obvious we're going to struggle if we lose Terrell Owens. We don't have a Pro Bowl alternative, he's one of the best players on our team, and our offense leans heavily on him. No TO, no dominant offense. We might be able to "get by" without him, but we're not going to scare anyone. It'll be a major struggle, undoubtedly.

I'm sure the mods will love your constant cussing, by the way.

To add ... do you really think DJ Hall would make a darn bit of difference if we were to lose Terrell Owens?

You're calling us "knuckleheads," and you're throwing out the suggestion that we missed out by not going after DJ Hall as some sort of Plan B to Owens?

Yeah, we're the knuckleheads.
