You talk about having some firepower at the skill positions. I would love to inject this team with some serious speed.

Lets play the history card, how original...

I guess the Chiefs shouldn't have drafted that Penn St. RB.... whats his name?

Oh right, its Larry Johnson.

I want Mcfadden, oh yes I do... But I would rather we trade our own pick in the draft and use the Browns' pick similar to what NE did this year, and keep trading that pick until we really need to have two guys drafted in the first round. What say you smarta?

No kidding.

Let's draft a Michigan WR and a Penn State RB in Round 1. Those are great ideas. Maybe a QB from Florida, too.

You wouldn't take Larry Johnson?

Comparing current players to former busts is laughable... how anyone still uses these comparisons is beyond me.

We will probably be able to trade down and still get who I want since the 40 time is over-hyped and Jackson will run in the 4.2s.

It appears that next year should be a deep draft for both RB and WR. I'd love to see us just take who falls to us. That said, I don't think Jerry will let McFadden get away.

No it isn't. There are certain systems which produce players who appear to be productive purely because of the system.

Has there even been a good WR come out of Michigan? I can't think of any. I can think of a lot of busts.

There is currently 1 in the making.

Desmond Howard was a Superbowl MVP (gimme an excuse).

David Terrel was pretty bad.

For once... I'm completely on board with Jerry falling in man-love with a player. :D

not saying that manningham won't be good. but yea when there are a number of wr busts from one school, people do tend to look to at history.

and you can't compare larry johnson to penn state backs...larry johnson is not human. and desean jackson is gonna be much better than manningham. i have a feeling in my pants.

First, i would say whatever it takes, get McFadden, super running backs help you win playoff championships, like Emmitt Smith and LT. Then, I say if we cant get a super player with our 2nd # 1 pick, then yes, trade it for a number 1 the next year, till you can get another super player. And by trading your 2nd # 1 pick if you cant get a super impact player, you should be able to get a # 2 pick in that trade for your number 1 too or a # 3 pick for trading your pick for next year.

26 teams passed on LJ... was it because of the history behind Penn St. running backs? Possibly, was it a mistake? Of course.

All I am saying is don't let the history on players at a certain position from a certain school blind you from a players true talent.

David Terrell was pretty bad you're right smarta, but he also played in some incredibly anemic offenses in Chicago. I don't want that Wideout from Michigan either way, he ironically reminds me of Bernard Berrian on the Bears, as a one-dimensional downfield threat.

I want to wait until this season and offseason to see how Hurd and Austin progress, I am PRAYING that Austin can develop at least as much as Hurd because Austin has the physical capability to be T.O. clone. We have so many wideout projects on this team I would like to wait.

And that is why we didn't go WR this year... which surprisingly upset a lot of people (not me).

This year we will find out how much we really like our young WRs and figure who will be that guy who can step up and take over for TO in a year or two... if there isn't that guy then we draft one next year.

As I have said before, my heart, no matter how it seems, isnt set on Manningham.

Just at this point of the "season" with all the talks of our 2008 1st round selections this is the guy I would pick at this point.

McFadden would be my horse too but I would like to think our current RBs are gonna give JJ reason to keep them.

As for the better WR conversations... they are all up in the air until the season kicks off which I absolutely cant wait for. And if Jackson is some God like people around here hype him up to be then I can easily change my wants.

Larry Johnson is going to look VERY human this year, Willie Roaf and Will Shields are gone... Look at LJ's procuction here.

2005 kan | 16 | 336 1750 5.2 20 |
| 2006 kan | 16 | 416 1789 4.3 17 |

When Willie Roaf retired, LJ's average per carry dropped almost a full point, and required almost 90 more carries to meet his yardage total. KC also did not spend a high pick on OL, so that leaves Larry Waters as thier only viable O-Lineman. LJ is good, but he is overrated, much like M. Manningham.
