If we fail to get past the divisional round should Mike McCarthy lose his job?

Yes. And Quinn, too..

But not because MM's a terrible coach, he's not bad. Same for Quinn.

But they're retreads. There's a reason no coach has ever won SBs with 2 different teams. Need an up-and-coming head coach. Like Landry and Jimmy.

Both had the pedigree that would indicate they could win. And yes, I know Parcells got another team TO the SB, and another close to the SB.

But coaches get in a rut, other teams figure them out.

Need a fresh, innovative approach.....
Andy Reid?

Since the Jimmy Johnson "influence" has worn off this team, only one constant has remained, and will remain for decades to come, like father like son.
We can't do anything about Jerry we're stuck with him. But that doesn't mean just trot the same team out there next year and hope something different happens. The definition of insanity is trying to the same thing and expecting different results.

Get rid of him for who? Not gonna make a difference.
I get what you are saying.

It has to be someone who can call a modern offense and it has to be someone capable of adjusting to and punishing the defense when they take things away from you.

Usuaully I have some opinions on who that could be (right or wrong). I have no idea who that guy is now. Sean Payton was the hope before Denver got him last year. If the Rams decide to rebuild, I would throw a gaggle of draft picks to gte McVay. I don't know who else is out there that can take them to the next level. Dan Quinn is a lateral move IMO and if they made taht move, he better go find his new version of Kyle Shanahan (his OC in Atlanta for the Super Bowl run).

Head coach ideas:
Matt Campbell is an offensive guru IMO and he's trapped in college mediocrity in Iowa State (apologies Cyclones fans).

Ben Johnson? He'll be most team's #1 choice.

Bobby Slowik? That's quite the jump.I like it though.

Jim Harbaugh? Not an offensive guru but definitely a culture changer. He's a Jerry Jones-caliver egomaniac and Stepehn Jones will faint when he sees Harbaugh's contract demands.

No easy answers but can't keep McCarthy and then expect different results.

McCarthy will be fired at the end of the season and Dak will be sent packing. Mark my words.
I really hope you’re right. I don’t care about the Dak debate right now. If anyone is not concerned about our road winning percentage against good teams the last 6 years then you’re not paying attention.

Dak has not been very successful against good teams on the road. That’s very concerning. McCarthy is the same. If McCarthy can’t beat good teams outside of AT&T stadium then he needs to go. Last I checked the superbowl isn’t going to be played at AT&T stadium anytime soon.

Now this is what I'm looking for. Someone that put some thought into it. I don't want a college coach but you are headed in the same line of thinking as me. Someone who understands modern offense. Hell the modern NFL overall.

That's not the same thing unless you can tell me the same things exist in Dallas.

The NFL fined the team $10 million and said Snyder would step away from day-to-day operations for several months after Wilkinson's investigation found Washington's workplace to be toxic and unprofessional, especially for women. The team did not lose any draft picks, and no formal suspensions were handed out.Aug 16, 2023

So if I don't have the perfect name that you wanted to hear I'm not allowed to say MM should go which I can do by just looking at the results. Whatever.

you must work for jerry
Uhhh no I hate jerry you make no sense. Unlike you I just realize we're stuck with Jerry because he's the owner. When you can present evidence there's a toxic environment feel free until then there is no replacing Jerry.

I don't think bringing in another coach that will be under Jerry's thumb will make any difference. This team like some many before it are undisciplined penalty machines and you can't be successful like that. If there was a decent replacement I would say yes but I don't see that being the case.
That doesn't mean you don't do it....list Corky's big wins. I laugh when people keep referencing @ New England....that game was nothing.

If I'm making the call, Mike McCarthy is the coach in 2024. There isn't even a discussion.

I would, however, give him a weight I expect him to reach by training camp and if he fails to gain the weight he would be on the hot seat next year.

On the Cowboys last TD drive they had the ball 1ST-and-goal from the one - and Dak takes a three-step drop and sacked. That’s just stupid football. I’m ambivalent about McCarthy because I distrust ownership’s ability to acquire somebody better.
