If we fall short of making the playoffs

If the goal is a Super Bowl win, then I'll view the season as one where our two biggest offensive stars missed a significant portion of the season.
Why blame Weeden? He is who he is.

Be that as it may, once the season is over, I'm on to the draft. I like the way this team is being built, and if we continue to lose, we have some great prospects we could look at with our top pick ... Hargraves III and EE being two of them.

I have a ton of players I'd still dislike more than Weeden.

If we miss the playoffs this year, I'd have players or things I'd hold more responsible for it than Weeden, too.

.....by say, one game, would Brandon Weeden go down as one of your most disliked Cowboys of all time? If not, who would you rank ahead of him?

Discuss.....

Can't understand the logic behind threads/comments like this and there's been similar comments by others. It's not like Weeden went out with the intent to lose games or was a distraction who's conduct was detrimental to the team. Hardy put his hands on a coach on other players during an ugly incident on the sidelines Sunday but some here defended his actions because he's a great player who's been a force in the 2 games he's played. Weeden is an average QB who did the best he could and was far from terrible. He got the save vs Philly in relief of an injured Romo playing almost a half going 7-7 and a TD. His 91 yard last ditch drive vs NO in which he threw a TD on 4th and 7 got the game to OT but the defense folded. In Weeden's 3 starts he completed 72.4 percent of his passes with 2 TD's, 2 INT's and had a passer rating of 92.1. He didn't have a start this season that was as bad as Cassel's start last week.

The problem with Weeden was we couldn't generate much offense with him due to his check downs and the conservative approach the Cowboys took with him. They thought if they could limit his mistakes (throwing into coverage) and have him complete a high percentage of his passes they could control the ball but it didn't work. His play was no where near as poor as Brad Johnson's play in the games he started in place of an injured Romo back in 2008. In the 3 games Johnson started he was DREADFUL and didn't even play well in the game the Cowboys won with him. They were blown out in 2 of his starts and missed the playoffs despite going 9-7.

There's a lot of players I could list ahead of Brandon Weeden that I disliked more such as Quincy Carter who was given an opportunity to be the starting QB of the Dallas Cowboys and blew it with average play and drug issues that got him booted from the team during training camp. What happened with him helped destroy the 2004 season. It's the players that are selfish, become distractions and start trouble that I can't stand. Any player who distracts from the play on the field and is a cancer in the locker room are going to be ranked way ahead of players like Brandon Weeden. He's not the reason this season is in trouble it's the key players we've lost that he and others couldn't replace that has the team sitting at 2-4.

Weeden was hated by many here the day he signed with the Cowboys his play in Cleveland had everyone put off. Go back and read some of the comments that were posted when he signed.

Twill would rank high amongst some here there's been more than a half dozen hate threads dedicated to him just this season. He's been the whipping boy for the 2015 season.

Garrett takes all the blame from me this season. Yeah, we have injuries, and that's hard to overcome, but there were two games (NO and ATL) where is was no excuse to not win those games. As soon as Romo is retired, we need a new HC and a fresh start. Hopefully I am completely wrong, and we win a Super Bowl, so I can be the most obnoxious prick for the next year. Hahaha!

Weeden is second. He just sucks. He only looked at half the field, and stared down receivers. He played scared, which is exactly what Garret does.

Because this team has super bowl talent.

There's not a lot of SB talent without Romo and Dez on the field. Despite the OL they make the offense click. Without those 2 players the offense is very average. Not much on the defense minus Hardy and Lee.

Jason Garrett?

He's not able to adjust when things are going bad we saw that during the 3 straight 8-8 seasons and we've seen that in games this season especially in the second half of the Atlanta game. With the mounting losses and the sideline disruption we saw last Sunday the team is starting to look dysfunctional again.

They hyperbole over how "bad" a player with a 92 rating and 72% completion percentage continues to shine a light on really, really dumb CZ members. You would think plugging another player in and having him do just as bad (worse really) would make that obvious, but they continue to double down on their ignorance.

I blame the other QB too who threw as many passes to the Giants as he did to our guys.

That was a huge division game and very winnable. and he blew it.

I don't get the free pass that Cassel gets. He sucks too.

Everyone on this team is hapless without Romo. It's pathetic

Cassell's getting a free pass? News to me. Of course he sucks compared to Romo. He is a backup. Big shock.

No more than Romo was for bobbling that FG snap or jackie Smith dropping that ball in the end zone or Dez not catching the ball against the packers (he caught it).

I often wonder why football fans are so quick to use words such as "dislike" or "hate" when it comes to athletes. We drop our heads at the play but rarely do we hate players for being humant.

yeah he did, in 1990 when he lost the game that could have put us into the playoffs

NFL.com didn't list a start for him that's where I checked and besides why hate him for contributing to a loss that knocked the Cowboys out of the playoffs when Romo has done the same thing? The Cowboys were just coming off a 1-15 season and still weren't very good in 1990. It wasn't Babe's fault Atlanta rushed for 184 yards in that game and the Cowboys could only manage 59 yards rushing. The Cowboys defense played as big a part in that loss as Babe's performance did. Babe was a below average NFL QB it's ridiculous to hate a player who was very limited at the position they played and did the best they could on a team that was lacking talent.
