I like the no state income tax in Texas excuse as to why a player would take less to come here. :(

I just do not know how you establish reasonable contract parameters for a Ware return to Dallas.

I guess it would involve make up millions for hurting his feelings for releasing him in the first place?

It was great Demarcus, enjoy the rest of your career.

My guess is he only comes here when it is time to retire.

Only way I take Spence is if we find a way to get creative with Gregory. I don't see that happening. We got lucky landing Gregory last year and he only projects as a WDE, which is what Hardy and Spence would play. If we somehow find a way to play all 3 (Spence, Gregory, Lawrence) like Denver did when Miller played SLB when they were still in the 4-3, then I'd say okay. But I don't see us being that creative. We play a traditional 4-man rush. We just need all 4 guys to be talented. Gregory needs to live up to his potential and add a few pounds, and we need to replace Hayden with a talented do-it-all big man. Luckily there are quite a few guys who fit that mold this year. Problem is, they won't be there when we pick again at 34. It might be a reach taking Robinson/Billings/Rankins at 4 but it wouldn't at 10-15.

Gregory has not proven anything yet. I like Gregory and he may turn out to be a gem down the road, but the Cowboys lack a pass rush right now. And Lawrence may or may not build on this year, injuries can and will happen in this league. Marinelli's scheme also depends on sending waves of fresh pass rushers. If Spence is the BEST option, then you cannot pass him up because Lawrence and Gregory are already on the roster. This was the same stupidity that had the Cowboys passing on Joe Montana. Landry thought he had enough QBs on his roster, even though Montana was the highest guy rated on their board when it came time for their pick.

Always draft Montana, that is the lesson.

Yeah, Spence is one of the only playmakers there. If his interviews check out, I'm good with him at 4.

We took Ware at 14. Small school athletic wonder, never played LB, who was ranked mid second round in February. Where these guys are ranked this time of year means next to nothing.

Agree completely. Folks are getting too worked up about player rankings right now. Things will change quite a bit between now and the end of the combine.

That's what I've been saying about Bosa as well.

He won't validate a top 5 pick imo.

I agree on Bosa
Spence just as a player would be top 5 but the issues will drop him
Personally I'm more about getting a guy inside than outside the dline.
