we have virtually no chance of winning the SB. We have a good chance at winning the weakest division in the NFL. If you are satisfied with that have fun.
Thanks, I will...

No that is absolutely BS that anything can happen once you reach the playoffs. The weaker teams fall and the strong remain. We do have talent but we have HUGE holes that really good teams exploit. THAT is why we have virtually no chance at making a serious run.
Thanks, I will...
And so goes the fans of what once was the proudest team in sports. Gosh darnit, they are just happy to have the chance to cheer on an average team.
wow talk about having a really high opinion of oneself. So now you are the arbiter of all- can you possibly find a hat big enough to fit your head?
Are you going to watch the game, or be a hypocrite? Please tell me you won't watch.
If you do....
Just because my opinion is high, it doesn't mean I'm not right about the quality of your argument.
So wait .., let me get this straight .. Rooting for your team.., rooting for them to win (even if the other team is better in talent etc) means you are settling for mediocrity? I'm a realist too.. But my reality has shown me that less talented teams have beaten better teams before on any given Sunday .. Do I go into every game thinking we can win.. Yes.. Do I get ticked when we lose .. Absolutely .. Do I believe in morale victories .. Heck no..but some of you are so doom and gloom before the game is even played .. I mean your not enjoying being a fan of this team then move on..
Oh and yes I grew up watching the Landry years ... But those Landry years weren't just the 70's folks with Super Bowl wins and losses .. Those Landry years turned into the decade of almosts early on and despair later on in the 80's as well... I hate that we so many years removed from winning the big game.. I'm so much not a fan of how this franchise has been handled for over a decade ... However in less than 35 minutes I will be sitting here cheering on the boys against all odds to beat the saints .. And if they don't I will be pissed off... BUT I will still cheer them on and think they can beat the next team on the schedule .. But hey I guess that's just me
some of us just have higher standards. We grew up in the days of Tom Landry when it was EXPECTED that we make the playoffs.
I look at most posters here and they are as happy as a pig in slop at just contending.
Lower standards that is the difference.
actually settling for less is the sure sign of a losing mentality.
hey if you are happy with mediocrity that is your problem.
By the estimations of the OP and most of the "realist" ........ Tom Landry only succeeded twice in his 28 years as coach of the Cowboys ....... with no salary cap.
The same people who are bringing his name up would run him out of town nowadays.
A couple years ago a 7-9 Seahawks team knocked off the Saints. The 2011 Packers were 15-1, and one-and-done in the playoffs. The top seeded Cowboys of 2007 and Giants of 2008 each suffered divisional exits. The top seed in the NFC last year was the Falcons. Where were they in the Super Bowl?
I'm not being rude, but my post wasn't BS.
Question for all of those who think there is no point in making the playoffs if your team is mediocre:
Did you complain when the Cowboys lost to the Eagles, Giants and Commanders in 2008, 2011, 2012 - defeats which prevented the Cowboys from getting into the playoffs? If so, why? Surely you didn't think the Cowboys would accomplish much in the playoffs, did you?
So what you are saying that except for the team that wins the Superbowl ......... there is no point to the season.
You picked the wrong sport to watch ......... every team fails more than they succeed in the NFL.
