Who do we go into the season with at RB? Barber is a good back but is he good enough as the ONLY back? I think it is interesting that we keep hearing he may be on the trading block.

What are your guys thoughts on this position?

Both are good backs and will not be traded...

Draft Blalock and put Davis at RG and they will kick arse with this oline.

Pretty obvious to me JJ is staying, we would have traded or picked up an FA by now, maybe he will regain some luster under new coaching, me still might draft a rb somewher in ther, honestly this a passing league, it gets rpiority these days, lots of rb by committee...

Who is "we" and "keep" implies and I infer that it has been mentioned before.

If you provide a link it might illuminate this odd premise.

For the right offer any player is tradable. I do think Jones will be with us this season but I also think he has to be a bigger impact for the team to remain beyond this coming season

I say, if you find a decent running back in the 4 round + draft him and if he is better than Jones (can't be that hard) cut him lose at 45k feet. ;)

I don't think he'll be on the trading block . I think instead Dallas will get back to the huge mauling offensive line that had been so productive to them in the past . If JJ can get a hole in the line he has the moves to make some linebackers miss . The only addition I'd like to see to the backs is a FB who can pick up the tough 1-2 yards and is a good receiver out of the backfield . Romo needs a safety blanket that he can dump the ball off to and know they can gain some positive yards . I would mind seeing a late round RB selection to compete aganst Tyson Thompson though .

if we trade julius jones for any draft pick, it will be because jerry is gonna use the number 1 pick on a running back.......................

I don't think Julius Jones would be traded away until/unless another back of similar or superior quality (in addition to Barber) were obtained.

I think that the 2 RB philosophy of Parcells is something that will stick with Jerry Jones.

In today's game, you need two good ones.

Heck, they even use two in San Diego, and they have the best RB around.

That's what I was thinking, but Peterson and Lynch will be gone. They are the only ones I would want.

It would be silly to trade someone who is going into their contract push year. Let's see, Julius knows if he has a big year that he'll get paid very well. Yeah. that's who I want to trade.

Well let’s hope he has a big year. I like Jones I think he is a good guy but we need more production from our starting RB, he may never be an elite RB but we need more productions. Hopefully with better line play he will be able to accomplish a lot more.

As big a fan of Barber as i am, i dont think its a good idea to trade jones at this point. The team has enough talent to compete and just needs some tweaking here and there. If there was more of an overhaul needed at this time i would be for trading jones to strengthen or get depth at some other positions, but i just dont think it necessary right now.

IF and that is a big if we were to entertain trading JJ this is what I would look at doing:

Get at least a #2 for him, then go after Jamal Lewis and sign him to a two year deal. Him and Barber would be a good combination.

I still think Lewis has some gas left in the tank and he will play hard with a short deal.

So if we could end up with a #2 for JJ and have Lewis I would do it.

With that said, I doubt we get a 2 for JJ in light of what just happened in the RB market. The value on RBs went south when Chicago traded a guy like Thomas jones for what is in essence a third round pick (Value wise) because all they did was swap #2's.

It may just be speculation because the rumor about last year's draft "trade talk". I just think it makes no sense because we are no that deep at running back.
