If we trade Julius

That is a matter of opinion. I think both guys are good RB and would not be surprised to see them have good NFL careers.

I just can't see them rushing for over 1,000 yards

maybe in the right system

As I said it is a matter of opinion. I think both are good backs who played in tough conferences and played very well.

I'm only stating what's common knowledge to everyone except to his most ardent fanboys.

You mean you are only stating your opinions rather than facts to support your own opinion of JJ? You say he's not affective as a receiving threat (1st opinion) and then you defend it by saying he is looks as if he is tripping on marbles (2nd opinion).

I on the other hand used facts.
#1 The oline struggled with run blocking.
#2 The oline struggled with pass blocking (forcing us to use our RBs as extra blockers)
#3 We were at the bottom in the league with passing attempts to RBs (our offense did not design or run plays to satisfy your wants).

BTW, I am not an ardent fanboy of JJ.

If you haven't noticed yet, I have man crushes on TO and Watkins at this current time.

Your flawed premise on the difference between objective fact and opinion is unintentionally comical, if not for a tad scary. Get thee to your local community college logic 101 course.

Those are opinions. Badly formed ones at best and completely unsupported at worst. As far as run blocking goes, MB3 had 4.8 ypc and Julius had a 4.3. You do know what the league average is, do you not? You offered absolutely no proof that the reason we couldn't throw to our RB's was due to scheme or lack of talent on their behalf.

Of course it helps that MB was in on short yd situations. Totally different mindset by everyone then on first and second downs that are standard sets and such. And our O line was not good in run blocking- as was mentioned in many places and commented on by BP and others. We will see how things work out this year- if we get Colombo back we should be better in run blocking with Davis in there now. As regards pass receptions- JJ had a rather gawdy average yd per catch. shame he only caught 10. He has improved as a pass catcher- which BP also mentioned. I guess some will never see any good in some players no matter what.

The problem is most people only watch The Cowboys game each weekend and don't realize what the norms really are around league.

They personally aren't satisfied by the "production" of certain players and therefor write them off as "busts" or "inadequate."

I wish people would expand their horizons a little more before stating their opinions as if they are actually factual.

Umm if you say so... JJ had 1,000+ yards.

23 total RBs did this so they should know this.

I dont mind that kind of production.

Who do we go into the season with at RB? Barber is a good back but is he good enough as the ONLY back? I think it is interesting that we keep hearing he may be on the trading block.

What are your guys thoughts on this position?

why would we trade him?

oh wait...he didnt rush for 1600+yds and 20 tds in each of his first 3 seasons...he must suck

David

I used to think it was a good idea to trade JJ, but now with a new staff in place, I'd like to see what this new staff can do with the OLine/offensive stretegy and with the RBs to see what they bring to the table.

Yeah I know, no one will be satisfied until they have another Emmitt.

But really, I'm excited to see how Wade will use our running backs with a hopefully better o-line. Should be fun to watch

How about we simply provide a line, harness his talent correctly by playing to his strengths and not trade him? Thoughts.

Yeah, agreed.

McGehee is on the block in Buffalo and the word from the so-called experts is a 2nd or 3rd round pick but that his value is going down because they keep bringing in fa rb's and everyone will simply wait for him to be released...they don't want to pay him.

I'd trade JJ for McGehee, and I think Buffalo would jump on it if the reports of cutting their guy are accurate.

Nothing against JJ, but I personally would see this as an upgrade.
