I don't think anyone did thus Jerry's quote at the end of last year...and thus the blown games and mismanaged games. It isn't a story of "told you so" because he showed us nothing. It's a case of him growing into role so far and letting each person do what they do best. I lived in Houston for 18 years and saw Gary Kubiak for years. Never thought anything about the guy. He was a JG guy with more offensive play calling skills. They finally found a grove with a D coordinator..Wade..and Kubes on O. Then the old guy came back and he's a coordinator again. I hope that doesn't happen here because I want a long term guy. But the divisions of fans should not be because of a coach. There is a lot of season left and I want to enjoy it so far. That's what being a fan is about/

well we're fans who disagree and thats fine but Red was /is building a winner from the ground up and some of us could see it

But Garrett never wanted to give up play-calling. Even Jerry said it.

Not exactly what Jerry said, Jerry has also said with Garrett and when Wade was her and Garrett was calling plays that as HC he can call of any plays he wants he is the HC.

Really? Because Jerry made Wade take over for Stewart and Stewart was fired as soon as the season was over.

And yes, Jerry did say that about Garrett that he didn't want to give it up last year and kept interfering.

Houck was at one time a great OL coach and during the time he was here, the cupboard was bare. Houck may or may not have been the coach he was in the nineties but the group he had to work with during his last stint here was not very good and you know it.

He came with Garrett.... Garrett brought him here with that scheme. They both were even coaching at Miami together.

That was a scheme issue... Garrett didn't run any zone-blocking with his offenses.

How is that a process?

Jerry and Wade discussed it and Wade did call plays, did he have reservation? maybe so and in the end Wade lost the team had Wade continued to be only HC instead of HC/DC who to say he would have lost the team. Again you seem to think it is play calling that makes a man a HC or not that is far from the truth. HC takes full responsibility for success or failure of his staff and his players, it stops with him offense, defense special teams he is the HC of 53.

Your refusal to give Garrett any credit for the success they are currently having. You act as if he is just standing there no involvement you are so full of it, it truly is pathetic or you don't understand the role of HC

OK, whatever you say. If you thought icing kickers, horrible time management, not being able to close out games, etc were part of JGs master plan then you are smarter than everyone in the NFL, including the owner of our team, who said JG was on a learning curve. But if it makes you feel better...go for it. I prefer to be a true fan since the 70s who looked at things objectively and hoped for better and learning on the job. But lets not let 5-1 got to our heads.

I am glad that JG has sucked so bad, forcing Jerry to surround him with experienced coaches and pulling the play-calling from him.

!!!......nevermind. Really not much point to it

You can talk about scheme all you want to but with the players they had at the time, scheme would not have made any difference. I believe also that Doomsday pointed out, Houck was replaced at some point which again speaks to Garrett's willingness to make changes when they are necessary. Process.

Red was not ready for the job but Jones saw something in him and Jones needed a somebody to come through.
Jones went on the line for Red because like everybody else who came in contact with Red felt he was somebody special [every where he went]
Red grow into the roll with OJT and that pissed fans off. Thats not making me feel better its a fact. Jones finally figured out his boys strengths
and weakness and here we are today. It's a process. Hope you enjoy the ride.

Houck retired...

I never said he was fired or even that he should have been fired. It didn't work out. Was it a coaching deficiency or a complete lack of talent? Little bit of both? I don't know if he was asked to retire, if he was begged to stay, or if he just got burned out. I think he was up in age at the time as well. Point is it would be difficult to gage what he did here at that particular time because of the rebuilding of the OL at the time. I don't think it really serves a purpose to point fingers at a guy that served this organization very well for a lot of great years. Hudson Houck was an excellent OL coach here for a long time.
