If we're not gonna fix the Defense why not go all in on Offense?

Seriously I'm at the point that as long as Maranelli is here he's never gonna stand on the table for defensive talent. He likes try hard guys like Nick Hayden. Plus Stephen Jones is not gonna sign any premeire defensive pass rusher.

Why not just double down on the offense by upgrading the wr position and the TE position. Add another dynamic Receiver opposite of Dez that requires a double team and get a TE like OJ Howard in the draft and make it almost impossible for teams to matchup with you.

Yeah we may give up some points but we will avg 30 ppg.

If all things are equal then give me the defender but if OJ Howard is there at 28 then I can't see a DE or CB being better than him.

What makes you think they won't fix the defense?

I just don't have any faith in them going all in on that side of the ball in 2017. When Free agency started last year there were guys like Adrian Clayborn and Jabal Sheard that I thought could've been nice additions and the Cowboys didn't even talk to them.

I see more of the same this offseason and the draft you never know what will be available at the bottom of every rd.

I wouldn't mind picking up a quality RT, and maybe a Wideout, but for sure we need PRESSURE on the D side of the ball to win.

Dak played just as well as Rodgers did. He's already a top 10 qb in the league and he's just a rookie.
Dak played a great game, but no, he didn't play as well as Aaron Rodgers did. On a consistent basis, no NFL QB plays as well as Rodgers does.

Yup.........all depends on how the draft unfolds, possible Romo trade, their draft board.............might well be a Off. player at 28 is best value, with another Malik Collins/Tapper /Brown spotted to take later

I would like to see them take value in free agency if its there.....

5 out of the last 7 first round draft picks have gone to the offense: 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2016

Only Claiborne (near bust) in 2012 and Jones (jury still out) in 2015 have been selected on defense.

I'm not complaining -- the offense has been consistently good to great, however, the fact that the defense, on average, has been bad over that time period is not a surprise -- they've overloaded on offense.

It's time to focus on the defense.

I've gave up on Free Agency.

The best they will do for us is bring in another Mayowa type.

I think you have a point given how the rules are tilted in favor of the offense. I'm looking D early and often in the upcoming draft but would not hesitate to upgrade O to keep it elite moving forward.

I suppose, almost forced to if they want to keep OLine together long term., 2nd contracts will come soon enough on guys like Malik, Irving, Brown, Jaylon

just hope we actually accomplish something before we have to start deciding to pay them or not..........might be forced to go Patriot route as long as we draft good enough

.

I'm not exactly sure what "all in" even means in this case but the Cowboys drafted a LB, DT, and DE between Zeke and Dak last draft, and signed a couple of defensive linemen. I expect they will continue moving in that direction.
Unfortunately, there are only so many moves you can make each offseason. The draft is limited, the salary cap prevents a full blown shopping spree, so you do what you can.

What hurt this year was the LB and DE drafted didn't play. McClain and Gregory's knucklehead decisions didn't help either.
