If we're trying to get better, why keep the same guys?

Once again, where do you get this info from? How high is the value of a rotational pass rushing DT w/ poor run stopping skills? Who is telling you it's 27?
I kind of like BR549. It's made up also. He was correct and when signed was only 14th on salary and with high performance in an injury marred year. Heck yea, don't let the truth deter you.

Let's go is your usual direction. Funny, really...try it's not English now. How about it?

Amari was a good trade. They also had a good FA in 2023. But in 2023 they failed to address LB before the deadline. That sealed our chances in the playoffs.
Amari was a terrible trade. Do you realize we got exactly 1 winning season out of him? We traded for him in 2018 during the season, and he helped us make the playoffs. Here's the next 2 years:

2019: 8-8
2020: 6-10

By the time we had a winning season again in 2021, Lamb had taken over as the #1(79/1,102 yds) and Amari was 3rd on the team w/ 68/865.

Absolutely terrible and dumb. You don't EVER give up that sort of resources for a player unless that player is the key. Amari was not, not even close.

Awwwww, feel better now? Misrepresenting stuff again, I see, as well as outright lying. I mean, this is the stuff of sociopaths. I feel for you, dude.

Fact check:

Dr Jerry Buss of the Lakers and Donald Carter original owner of the Mavericks both had placed higher bids than Jethro but Bums personal bankruptcy from Savings & Loan scandal presented a more desperate scenario where the lesser offer was more attractive because no waiting period.

The NBA owners would have needed to sell their majority stakes in order to obtain the Cowboys which would have taken time Bum didn’t have.
Jerry was the preferred owner and got the purchase. Get your facts straight. The environment was not a matter of purchase and both Oakland and Dallas walked that path for 10 seasons.

The walk had to still be walked. Not everyone in cheap property money or head of horrid conditioned workers was right for the NFL.

Jerry got his money from the Teamsters and kept on forging and improving the team.

That was just a temporary cash flow issue due to the downturn in revenue from losing seasons and current recessed economy.

The Cowboys still increased in value from the 85 million Bum Bright paid in 1984 to 160 million JJ paid in 1989. And could have fetched even more.
It didn't. Even Murchison was losing his shirt despite a money Father.

I didn't know Amari was supposed to win a whole football game for you.

He was the preferred owner only because he had cash and would be no waiting period as either of the renowned NBA owners.

And to boot for Bum who had a hard-on for Landry who he couldn’t fire due to agreement with Murchison knew JJ was intent on making a coaching change.

Why? Answer is because we drafted them. It's the definition of insanity to keep running it back with the same core group of players that emphatically showed they aren't up to snuff.

Then it was much more of a gamble and venture to turn a franchise around. Not that way around the issue of finances. Dallas and Oakland went the same route with ownership and GM positions. Fact is both excelled and at the top of the AFC and NFC. With the merger of those two leagues and creation of a Super Bowl, then the Professional Game started to excell. Get the real facts straight. Any one, huh?
Not a gamble and why he was willing to pay a record amount at that time.

It was a desperate trade during season which did bolster 2018. But didn’t bolster 2 non playoff seasons following.

I suppose an argument could be made pro and con.

But it wasn’t a FA offseason move. Something the Cowboys in recent years rarely make a splash in.

The "we like our guys" approach to team building is a strategy that will never build a winning team.

Holy Larry, how in the world did you miss that? Listen up. To give up a 1 plus for a player, that player must be the one who puts you over the top. Your conclusion is weak, reread and think, man. Why in the world would you give up multiple high draft picks if that player will only lead you to .500 and below? Especially since you're going to have to pay him right away. Do you really not get this?

In this case, the con is way to big to overcome any pro's. It's not about Cooper, he's a good player. It's about what we needed to get over the hump and get into playoff contention. One very highly paid WR was not the answer, stupid trade.

Because, you can't turnover the entire team every season you don't win a SB. You have to maintain some of what you have.

I mean...duh.

No doubt. Agree!! But what spurred the trade was induced with our owner wanting to save Prescott.

If 2018 had been another non playoff season then it would have been a tough sell to extend his QB beyond his 4 year rookie contract which he was determined to prove benching Romo was right decision.

2018 season was saved spurring a losing record into a playoff run and arguably saving our young QB’s career in Dallas.

Now whether saving Daks career in Dallas was a pro or con is arguable. But for Jethro’s agenda I’d argue it was worth it to him. And that 2018 season arguably saved Daks career in Dallas.
