If we're trying to get better, why keep the same guys?

Lol, like getting the cap space and getting deals done ahead of free agency isn't much.
It's not. This is the same olio that we couldn't stop the run w/ in the playoffs. Not sure if we even have 2 starting quality LBs, Mazi on the fringe of full blown bust, who knows what we have opposite Parsons at DE, we only have 1 WR, RB room is bare. We haven't even started.

Definitely, they can't do internal, so God help external talent evaluation. This leads to taking the easy route - re-sign our own. The players and agents know this and they just hold out for the Jerry Overpay.
We're actually turning into the Dallas Same 'ole's.
Except this year, they were able to get Osa under market value.

It’s mind blowing when you take a moment to think that they haven’t signed a major free agent in THIRTEEN years. Really, think about that.

That ridiculous fact aside, that plan hasn’t worked, they haven’t won, yet refuse to change. They speak in a smug tone as if they have had great success.

Forget about all else….delusion and being stubborn is a bad combo.

Who do you consider to be a major free agent this year?

We all know where you're going with this. Here's the deal. You're ignoring of the following does not make it any less true and you only look silly by continuing to do so. Ready? Here we go...

Signing the players already on your roster to a deal at the end of their rookie contracts, while technically could be considered a FA signing, does nothing to improve the team and is not considered a FA signing by anybody here but you.

There are 31 other NFL owners who are so inept they had the audacity to hire another guy to be their GM. We can be proud of our Forbes trophies knowing our Owner is “All in” and losers like Jeffrey Lurie are just “kinda in”.
;)
Agreed. We’re lucky to have Jerry and son run this ball club.

I would just like to know who would be a major signing? Is Nick Bolton? Who else?

Does it matter in the context of this discussion?

The way Jerry has operated I would consider anyone who is a legitimate upgrade at any of the problem areas this team seems to have every year as a major signing.

Your response seems like a deflection though. The context seemed to be more about Jerry's well established reluctance to spend in FA rather than who should he sign. You have been diligently holding up the signing of Osa as evidence that Jerry will spend in FA and that the restructures are indicative of a spending spree coming. That's the context from which I replied to you.

Chargers just cut Bosa. Is he any good anymore? I don't follow that team at all.
More of a money thing, I mean you've heard of cat casualties right good players get cut off teams because their performance is no longer matching their contract and it saves a Team money, but it doesn't necessarily make the team better more than likely it's going to make them worse they don't feel that whole that's the problem with Bob here, he doesn't realize how many more holes they would have to fill if we let everyone go...

When Bob says bring all these players back they have been winning all these playoff games why are they being cut if they're so good and if their teams are winning?
Seems to be a fine line here between bringing in outside free agents who may not even fit in well or perform like huff it was money the eagles paid for half and he did nothing last year didn't even get activated for the Super bowl and he was one of their big free agent pickups...

I would like the front office to do more this year bring in more guys like Kendricks or better just not staying packed but we don't need to make big splashes or cut a bunch of our guys because it just makes even more holes most teams go through a 15 to 20% churning of their roster every year, we're not the only ones with a big list of free agents on who we should keep and who we don't and we let a lot more go just like last year we let Armstrong, Biadsz, and Fowler and a lot of guys walked, it helped other teams..

I mean you have to look at it from both sides,we help Washington be better by letting them take some of our players, I guess we should've kept them in hindsight,? Bob?

Bosa should be a no go. Keep an eye on Myles Garrett.

I'm in no way advocating the Cowboys look at trading for any guy that's gonna cost you draft picks in a large contract he doesn't fit here but if somebody's already a free agent they would be a better fit here there's probably 8 pass rushers some are full defensive end some are outside linebackers that are pass rushers that are available without a trade and for half the price you're not getting miles Garrett on the Dallas Cowboys are you talking about Washington I mean I don't really wanna talk about Washington I don't give a crap about the dead skins...

But no team fits 2 dudes that are typically at the same position both paying them market money especially if you have to also trade an asset miles garrett's gonna end up on a team if he's traded I don't even think they're going to trade him they already told him no but if he forces a trade it's gonna be to a team that's not already have a high price defensive end on it, they need a true 1..we have that in Parsons and he about to get 36+mil...that mean MG is OUUUTTTT here..

Except this year, they were able to get Osa under market value.
And I know it's not much but they also got lamb for slightly less than chase while you see Cincinnati sit there and franchise tag their number two guy two years in a row and their number one guy in chase they let him play when they should have signed him last year and now he had his best season and they're nowhere near on the same page I mean there are worse GMs and worse decisions being made on other teams as well so....

I would just like to know who would be a major signing? Is Nick Bolton? Who else?
maybe a DT like Allen or Hargraves , possibly a pass rusher off that large list...

I have that guy you responded to on ignore but tell him that if you don't sign your own free agents you would probably get worse and then have more holes to fill maybe he doesn't understand that keeping your stars may look like it's staying the course like it's not improving your team but if you let them go it sure would leave big holes and probably you'd be worse I mean the logic around here doesn't make a lot of sense there are teams that don't sign their stars they let them walk or they trade them and they're constantly chasing their tail trying to replace them...

I would like the Cowboys to get 3 or 4 players similar to kendricks, So what happened last year is they didn't really go after a whole lot of free agents but you don't need to have tier one free agents you just need to sign some of those guys off those lists that are true free agents that can help your team and keep you from reaching in the draft..

that would be the goal of mine ,I don't care what their names are at the moment there are some big lists out there right now and more being released as we speak, that will have a guy or two that includes Kendricks, I probably would take him back this year if he wants to play, he was relatively healthy last year he was played better than expected.. I liked him he actually produced a lot more than people think if you look up his numbers, we need him back or a player or two like him for a green dot Middle linebacker..

Cowboys have to develop a core of players that create the culture and add solid players around them. Right now, they have to retain certain guys because they have no one else, they won't spend in FA, and that's too much responsibility to heap on a rookie.

Except this year, they were able to get Osa under market value.
Osa is a pass rushing DT..... he is also one of the worst run defenders in the NFL at DT. We play in a division with Saquon barkley. The signing makes no sense. We need a run defense. We would be a better team right now if we gave that contract to Jonathan Allen.
