I don't understand the Hilton signing either.
At least a threat of deep speed down field.
I've noticed that we hardly ever take a shot deep down field.
Maybe we do that more with Hilton, though I admit I have no knowledge of Hilton's health or condition or if he still possesses blazing speed.

I don't care what you think!!!!! My bank account and coaching record speaks for themselves.
Don't try to convince people who don't want to be convinced. Those who respect you appreciate your credentials. That's all that matters.

After 33 years of being a GM, Jerry still somehow believes adding a WR in December is the key to winning playoff games.
Nope, he is smarter than that Bob. Want to take in the stray while he can. If you give OBL the luxury to total rehab its going to cost more.

Some don't have to brag about credentials to garner respect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s beyond me why our 80 year old owner and part time GM, after the last 27 years of playoff futility, spends so much of his time pursuing OBJ- a player that almost certainly won’t be able to help this team much if at all this year. All this happening at a time when this team needs anything but a circus.

In fact, what this team needs a lot more than a 30 year old gimpy WR:
  • Focus and attention to detail.
  • Mental and physical toughness to overcome adversity.
  • As a probable wild card team, becoming capable of winning road playoff games- something this team hasn’t done since the 1992 NFC championship game vs SF.
  • A commitment to being at their best the rest of the regular season and beyond.
I have nothing against Odell Beckham. He has been a very good NFL receiver. But obtaining his services just makes no sense right now when this team need focus, not a media circus with the signing of a has been WR. You don’t sign a WR in late Dec as THE “key” for a deep playoff run. But you do make that signing if getting a ton of attention is the goal.

Bob, how long have you been a Cowboys fan, buddy?

let me remind you of the priorities of this franchise

1. Revenue
2. Revenue
3. Jerry Ego
4. Jerry Ego
5. Revenue
6. Jerry Ego
7. Ego of other Joneses
8. Revenue
9. Revenue
10. Ego of remaining Joneses

Not even close!!!

I mean, in my view, he got very good WRs in them. I think ever since he past on Randy Moss, he's completely lost his way, and it's been haunting him. So, any time a splashy WR cokes available, he seems to not be able to help himself. Maybe Lamb isn't necessarily Moss level, but I do think he's been very good when he catches the ball.

If we get knocked out again, we will continue to be the laughing stock. Don’t think that matters as I hear it all the time.

Would be so nice to shut all the haters up. :)
What if the Bills, Vikings, Bengals, Chargers, and all the other teams get knocked out again? What's so funny about the Cowboys? You can shut the haters up. The Cowboys have the best record in the league over the last 2 seasons. They lost a playoff game by 6 points. It will be real funny if the Cowboys win the Super Bowl this year. They have as good a chance as any of the other teams.

That's cause you don't have credentials. But, you sure can criticize them.....
I told you before about appeal to authority.

Again, you don't have to be Gordon Ramsey to know your food is poorly cooked.

You also have a major problem with hubris. Get over yourself.

Jerry believes that he CAN help the team this year. Time will tell.

Btw…when I say OBJ has been a good receiver- he has. Good, but absolutely not great. Look at these stat facts…
  • He averages 5 receptions for 76 yards a game over his career. Good…not great.
  • Since 2017, he averages 4 TDs per season.
  • For his career, averages 13.9 yds per reception.
  • His first 3 years, he avg 7 receptions per game. The last 3 years, he averages 3 receptions per game.
He’s just not that great anymore. And our GM is busting his tail to sign him….
His mere presence on the field will give defenses something to worry about. If he still has some juice, that will open up the offense even more.

I submit this. If you think of the three tight end set with one WR and how that unsettles a defense, who blocks, who slips out into a pattern and who is the mismatch? Then think of the possibilities with four WR's.

Gallup and OBJ on one side. Lamb and Hilton on the other. Put Lamb in motion pre-snap to overload one side. You still have Zeke to block. Hilton runs a skinny post. OBJ runs a deep crossing route. This puts Lamb in the slot on the overloaded side as Gallup crosses the shallow middle.

Now I am not an offensive guru. But two fleet of foot receivers who can catch, married with all the other options at TE or WR, and perhaps Zeke leaking out to an empty flat. Now consider moving the pocket as all this is being done.

The Eagles run the RPO to get the mismatch. Either cover the WR/TE, or Hurts. Pick one, the other wins the route.

Now consider this.

Tyron, Tyler, Badass, Martin, Peters - that could very well be the Great Wall of Dallas. Now add Zeke to pick up the blitzers.

It's called options, people. If nothing else, Jimmy taught us speed kills in this game. Speed at receiver also opens doors for other pass catchers. While Jethro goes out of his way to stay in the news, I see nothing wrong with bringing in guys who can play. And if OBJ can't deliver, you still have Washington who is getting onto the field now. Offense is about skill players making plays.

As far as being the laughing stock of the league as someone mentioned, are you that thin-skinned that what a total stranger says to you causes you to shrink in embarrassment?

I also think there could be a situation where Dallas uses the RPO. Especially with receivers go left, TE sneaks out right as Dak rolls right. I know the Dallas playbook is huge. I am hoping Moore pulls his head out and runs plays the defenses have not seen when it comes to tourney time.

There is also an article out there suggesting Tyron is practicing at right tackle.

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...tackle-a-position-he-hasnt-played-since-2011/

A quote from the article: Coach Mike McCarthy said the Cowboys worked through as many as five different offensive line combinations Thursday.

I hope McCarthy isn't fined by the team for taking an interview with the press.

Nothing in the tournament is fact until it becomes history. These moves could be an attempt to write history.
Great post.
