If You Could Choose 1 Player In Cowboys History, In Their Absolute Prime To Add To Today's Team

Why Herschel Walker over Emmitt Smith? The Cowboys won nothing with Herschel. If I’m going to pick a player I’m going to pick one that led us to a championship.
With your flawed logic guys like Barry Sanders, OJ Simpson, Earl Campbell, Eric Dickerson were not good enough either. Football is the ultimate team sport, it takes Offense, Defense & Special Teams to win.

My logic isn’t flawed I’m picking players that helped our previous teams win championships. I want to bring a winning attitude to this team with players who have reached the pinnacle. Barry Sanders, O.J. Simpson and Eric Dickerson have nothing to do with this topic they weren’t Cowboys. With your logic if you were a Lions fan you would pick another back other than Barry Sanders just to be different. Lol

Great clips.

Just for the record though. That 2nd pass should be incomplete.

Yep, the same topic comes up every year however my choice or choices never change. I will always pick the player or players that are in the Hall of Fame that we won championships with.
That's your choice to do that, but if someone wants to choose a player

It’s no big deal this is all a fantasy. I just find it funny that a fan would choose a back that wasn’t as good as Emmitt Smith or Tony Dorsett who are both in the Hall of Fame and have Super Bowl rings. Like I said no big deal this is all just for fun. We’ll agree to disagree.

So many are understandably picking Roger Staubach. Others are understandably picking Troy Aikman or Tony Romo. But...Dak has a better career completions percentage and is on pace to shatter Romo's franchise record total passing yards in 4 more years if Dak stays healthy. So, I will stick with Dak since he's currently on the team.

But...if I had to choose an all-time Cowboys great to help this current team, I would choose The Playmaker, arguably our franchise's best ever WR, Michael Irvin. Imagine opposing Defenses trying to stop Irvin teamed up with CeeDee and Gallup at WR, plus Schultz, McKeon and Ferguson at TE? This receiving corps would be unstoppable.

Wasn’t big enough to play DT in today’s game. He was averaging around 265 pounds.

Hard to translate some of these guys to today's game, but would venture to guess with the access they have to training, dieticians, etc. he would have added weight.

This is a tough one as there's a handful of positions we could really upgrade. Cowboys need a DT and we've had a lot of great ones over the years. Oline could also use another player in the interior or exterior so easy to say Larry Allen. Michael Irvin would be a great compliment to Ceedee.

However, I'm going to throw out Darren Woodson as he hasn't got much love. It would be interesting seeing him set the tone in this defense even though safety isn't likely the biggest need.

Larry Allen. Because with him and Martin they should be able to bring that o line up to a top notch level. And then we could see what Dak can do. And Larry would pump up our rungame too.

With panic inepto at the helm, our man Irvin would be lucky to get 1000 yards for the season......:(...right Coop????

Yes, but, with a prime Emmitt, there's no telling how far we'd go with the rest of the roster the way it is. Especially if we get a prime Irvin too.
Does Kellen Moore stop being pass happy enough to utilize Emmitt is the real question....

That is why I chose Deion over Emmitt. I trust that Deion is used better than Emmitt would be.

To fill a current need, you take either Travis Fredrick at C or Rayfield Wright at RT. If Ty Smith doesn't work out you obviously take Larry Allen at LG.

Good point, we would need a better OC (not sure why Jerry insists on bad OCs between Garrett, Linehan, and Moore). What about a prime Darren Woodson? We could use a top safety. Haven't had that for a while on a consistent basis.
