Tyler Orlovsky over Carrell, could've moved on from Joe Looney & had a via swing C/G for the next 4 yrs on the cheap

Noooo. I had Taco rated way above Watt for the Cowboys. Watt was lucky that he got drafted into the perfect scheme for him (Steelers 3-4 OLB).

Pissed me off! The one team I didn't want to get watt was the stealers. I had a feeling they'd get him. Uhhhgg

What did McClay say in the interview?
Just kinda talked about RMs Defense and the types of guys he likes, which I already knew but I wanted to think I knew better lol talked about how they get scouts and coaches on the same page. Just Little behind the scene type things.

I absolutely loved picks in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 6th rounds. After that, I don't really care. So that leaves the Taco pick if I was going to change anything. I'm not sure I would.

If I did though, it'd probably be R Foster instead of Taco.

Nooooo, not Foster. A 4-3 LB has to be elite in coverage to be worth a 1st round pick. Nobody seems to know how he projects in terms if coverage. He is amazing in run defense, but Dick Butkus would be worthless in the modern pass happy NFL.

He has athletic ability to do it, but so did Bruce Carter. Coverage is mentally difficult. I'm leery (Not Ron Leary) of him even if he had no questions about a drug test.

The great thing about Jaylon Smith is that he projected (Before injury) to be an all time great coverage LB. There were analysts that honestly believed he could keep his weight down in the 225 range and play CB.

Jaylon also could have been a situational pass rushing DE or 3-4 OLB.

Better than the Skins getting him.

I was going to say Eagles but I think they are switching to a 4-3.

I would've said to get rid of Switzer, but I'm kinda warming up to the kid, if our coaching staff can bring some creativity he could be very useful. Just gives me nightmares of how Sklyer Green was advertised similar to this, which as we know didn't turn out too well.

You don't draft guys for special teams, you draft them for their potential in the regular rotation. This kid does seem to have alot more to his game than special teams, so I'm hopeful.

With such a defensive draft, it would seem we would've used a pick on a LB. Don't know where, but it seems awful cocky to just say we got Jaylon and he will be healthy for 16 games plus playoffs.

I expect LB to be one of the top needs next offseason.

I would not change anything, but for the topic of the thread. I think I would have went LB over Switzer or White. Or over Carrell. Anyway, put in a LB somewhere.

Who would you pick instead? (Obviously, your player will have to be available instead of the player Dallas picked)

I think all the picks are promising, but I think Dallas missed out on Demarcus Walker at Florida State. He was consistently disruptive in every game I saw, and would have been better that Taco, in my eyes.
Matt Breida was a petcat i had before the draft. He did go undrafted, but the 49ers just signed him to one of the higher udfa contracts. So, we could have had him instead of any of the 7th rounders. I doubt we've found a member of the 53 in any of those guys, whereas Breida could have replaced Morris.
