As much as I like Switzer (UNC fan). I would have taken Carlos Watkins - DT from Clemson in the 4th. I know Rod loves DL that can play multiple spots, and Watkins is strictly a 1T. But I think he's going to be really good.

Jake Butt for Switzer. he would have been our annual redshirt player but W(h)itten is fine for this year as Butt heals

I too was intrigued about taking Foster. But when he goes #31 that means 28 teams passed on him, some teams twice. That means some very good drafting teams like Baltimore, Atlanta,NYG, etc passed on him for some reason (s). Seattle could have had him #31 and traded out. That tells me something about the guy.

Who would you pick instead? (Obviously, your player will have to be available instead of the player Dallas picked)

I think all the picks are promising, but I think Dallas missed out on Demarcus Walker at Florida State. He was consistently disruptive in every game I saw, and would have been better that Taco, in my eyes.

I would have taken Foster over Taco.

I would have taken Jake Butt over Ryan Switzer in the fourth round, nothing against Switzer, I think he's a good return guy and slot receiver but it was far too early to take a special teams player in the fourth round in a deep draft over a starting type tight end sitting there and Witten's possible future Replacement, the value of a starting tight end over a player who is primarily a special teams player is NOT a good trade off imo...

How do you rate Foster's projected coverage ability in the NFL?
1. Elite
2. Average
3. Poor
4. Undetermined

Watt instead of Charlton.

Jalen Myrick instead of Marquez White.

Treyvon Hester instead of Joey Ivie.

Jordan Carrell is a nice feel good story, but he probably could have been available as an undrafted free agent.

Watkins is too much of an achiever for Marinelli's tastes at nose tackle.

He would rather have himself the high motor players he can get excited about.

Last pick. Would have taken a shot on Chad Kelly. The potential return on investment is enormous
From a talent stadpoint no doubt! But it seems this team is trying to keep the "liquered up idiots" out of the locker room. A seventhvround pick is not worth having a bad influence around, hardy proved that imo

Nooooo, not Foster. A 4-3 LB has to be elite in coverage to be worth a 1st round pick. Nobody seems to know how he projects in terms if coverage. He is amazing in run defense, but Dick Butkus would be worthless in the modern pass happy NFL.

He has athletic ability to do it, but so did Bruce Carter. Coverage is mentally difficult. I'm leery (Not Ron Leary) of him even if he had no questions about a drug test.

The great thing about Jaylon Smith is that he projected (Before injury) to be an all time great coverage LB. There were analysts that honestly believed he could keep his weight down in the 225 range and play CB.

Jaylon also could have been a situational pass rushing DE or 3-4 OLB.
I know, I know... I'm just a sucker for a big hitting, intimidating LB.

I'm surprised no one else things Demarcus Walker was far better than Charlton. Demarcus Walker is a force on the line. 45 TFL and 28 sacks destroys 27 TFL and 18 sacks every time. What exactly am I missing here?
