LOL at guys picking offense players.

LOL at guys bypassing better players just to target defense. Reminds me of Jerry's frequent draft strategy of only targeting one side of the ball in the early rounds of a draft, eliminating half the players in the draft, and at times, better players.

Last year we fixated on offense with the first 3 picks. The year before it was defense. No doubt defense is our biggest need this year but that doesn't mean we should bypass better players just to fixate on the need. But I guess that 1 playoff win in the last 18 years makes Jerry an expert and validates everything he does.

If you could take any player from each of our division rivals who would it be and more importantly, do you think we would have made the playoffs with those 3 guys?

Giants - Victor Cruz (stretches the field better than Miles or Terrance Williams)
Romo can't throw a deep ball because you need to have complete trust and faith that the WR can make a play.
Commanders - Brian Orakpo (would have been so helpful to have during our linebacker drought)
Yes, Orakpo perfect pick
Eagles - Fletcher Cox (Young, promising defensive lineman who would have easily brought more pressure)
Nice pick but I don't know how you can pass on...........
Playoffs easily for us if we had these three guys.

Giants Antrell Rolle top 5 free safety in the game
Commanders Orakpo pass rushing DE.......right behind him is Trent Williams
Eagles McCoy no way do I pass on him for anybody else

kendricks is very inconsistent

fletcher cox might the the most overrated DT i've ever seen, he's had like 5 good games in 2 seasons

lesean mccoy wouldnt be a huge upgrade over murray

I dont if you guys havent noticed, but ever since JPP has been double teamed, hes been contained

orakpo is good, but not great, a team's going to hugely overpay for him this off-season

You guys have named pretty much anyone I would pick. My only hesitation would be the JPP picks. Pre-back surgery, I'd say sure. Post-back surgery. Not so sure.

There are better options than Orakpo on the skins too, if yall are mad Ware disappears they'd be ready to string him up after 2 games

We went 8-8 with the worst defense in the league and you believe we should target offense?

You should learn how to comprehend what you read.

Targeting is exactly what I'm against. I'm for taking best player available, within reason. DL and safety are two of our biggest needs, but I wouldn't pass on a higher rated OL in the first round in order to take a lower rated DT.

One of our biggest problems over the years is targeting and chasing need and in the process bypassing better players. It's not like we don't have many needs. Should be able to identify at least 4-5 needs, probably includes defense and offense, and take the best player at one of those need areas. But to target just 1 or 2 positions ususally results in reaching for a player and bypassing better talent. It's rare when the BPA is also our highest need. We need to draft smarter and not narrowly target.

I'd take -

Eagles - Chip Kelley or Lesean McCoy
Commanders - Pierre Garçon
Giants - JPP

And for torture in return I'd give -

Eagles - Jason Garret
Commanders - Stephen Jones
Giants - Jerry Jones

McCoy heck yes. The rest, too. These may be the best players on their teams; arguably.

I believe this for the most part. I think you draft the best player in a tier in a round and if you can get a position you need ok. If one player is clearly better than the others then they aren't in his tier. But basically I agree you need to look at talent and being a football player first not need.
