Names mean nothing until guys prove it in the NFL, and frankly, even guys like Brown and Collins have to prove they will study, work, and maximize their potential, but.....

  1. Taco Charlton 6'6" 277
  2. Chidobe Awuzie 6'0" 202 4.43 forty
  3. Jourdan Lewis 5'10" 188 4.64
  4. Ryan Switzer 5'8" 181 4.51
  5. Xavier Woods 5'11" 197 4.54
  6. Marquez White 6'0" 194 4.59
  7. Joey Ivey 6'3" 301
  8. Noah Brown 6'2" 222 4.55 (pro day)
  9. Jordan Carroll 6'3" 300
Marinelli got some guys...youth, energy, and more importantly, first time he's gotten his guys to play his style rather than taking the best of what was here from others and trying to make them fit his scheme. This is going to be fun to watch develop. And Linehan got two more toys to play with, while we may finally see a great punt returner.

I'm excited.

Defense was upgraded in a major way, looks like special teams was too if Switzer can carry over just a fraction of his college return success he'll have np beating out Lucky for return duties.

Great draft.

Considering where we picked every round, you really can't ask for more. We had the 2nd best record in football last season and just had one of the 6 or 7 best drafts of any team this year imo. Excellent work by Will and Jerry and Co.

still would rather have taken DE K. Davis in the 7th over one of the other DL we took.

Add in a MLB and DE from last year's draft...and we have something of a snapshot in change coming.

Absolutely. Smith and Tapper are practically rookies this year, if not technically so. And we need to remember Maliek Collins missed most of the first half of the season with an injury. When he started getting a push upfield we all noticed it.

Now, let's take a mental trip with the above...

New England just traded away about 2/3rds of their draft picks, for proven veterans...but with an 'added salary,' my guess.

Dallas just added and adjusted with new youth coming into the organization...the old fashioned and traditional manner for a managed team.

Now, in three seasons, who will be farther along?

New England
New York Giants
Dallas Cowboys

Hope I'm wrong but after RD2 it looks like a draft where we got smaller and slower. Mostly guys who are limited to role player status. Several teams drafting around us had drafts I prefer.

That's not to say they won't be really great in their role, but I just prefer to mix it up on day 3 with some guys with down-the-line potential to develop into more. We mixed it up last year and it's one of the things that made '16's draft so compelling.

I think you have to say one of those DTs has a better chance than any DE after rounds 1-2

Charlton
DLaw
Mayowa
Irving
Tapper
Moore

That's a really deep group

At DT, we have

Crawford
Thornton
Paea
Collins

I'm guessing in 3 seasons, no Brady for New England (unless he's still playing at age 43). I'll take the Boys.

In the draft, you aren't just looking at your present needs, but also at the future. In 3 years when Dak and Elliott are in their primes, this very young team around them right now will be seasoned and ready to dominate.
