If you had to fire one of these two today, and only one, who would you choose?

Fence walker. ;)

If I had to pick one, it be the guy at the top who took the job to be HC but now only seems to want the responsibility of being the DC. Very weak..........

Not a fence walker just a person who supports coaches. I just think any coach you hire should get at the very least 3 years to prove themselves at the end of those 3 years you evaluate where you are and where you are heading.

Today it looks bleak and the coach is on the hot seat yet I have seen guys like Coughlin start off 2-2 on a season was in the hot seat before the season stated with claims he had lost control of the team only to see that team turn around and make it to the SB.

I don't claim this will happen here only that coaches deserve the support of the organization to do the job and be given a fair opportunity and not allow the crying of the media and fans to sway the organization support of the coach.

I'd fire Garrett because I already know Wade is gone at years end. That way we could be assured of getting rid of both of them.

Well it's complicated. Wade came into this thing hobbled because his OC was chosen for him. That to me is 99.99999999% of the problem right there. I don't think the players can respect Wade simply because of that. They always run to Jerry when Wade tries to fine them so why don't you just shoot the guy and get it over with. Wade is completely undermined and has no authority here.

Then you have the flip side. Players don't respect Garrett because he's, "Special." He's the owners guy (Love Child,) forced on the head coach, it puts both of these would be leaders in a pickle. Aside from that there's nothing special about his play calling, the guy is riding on a stacked unit and everybody with an 1/8th of a brain can see that, that's why opposing teams mock him and his play calling all the time.

Whoever you choose, this team will suffer irregardless so you have to can both. But if you put a gun to my head I'd can Garrett with the stipulation that Wade finally gets to choose his own OC, otherwise I'd can Wade because he's still gonna be hobbled either way....

Do we have a stacked enough roster to carry us through this ridiculous lack of authority ala the NY Yankees??? Or will we continually fall short?

Thankfully I don't have to and if it were my call they both would finish out the season and based on the outcome of the season I would either retain or fire these coaches or any coach that was on the team.

Wade, the befuddled look, along with the sloppy, uninspired play seels the deal.

It's funny you should mention Coughlin. When he needed to "change," he did for the betterment of the team. Wade talks about change but the team lacks accountability from it's coach. It's great that the players have picked up the slack but so too does the HC.

In each of Wade's three years we've gone down hill instead of getting better. What else is there to see, especially considering this is Wade's MO at his previous stops? I just don't need to throw the season away just so I can be fair.

I'd fire Garrett because Wade could still coach the defense and then we could get an OC who utilizes his weapons better.

If we fire Wade, then we'd need a new DC, HC and would still need an OC. This is the easier fix for this season.

Yet Wade took the job with those stipulations. The guys been around the pro-game for 30 plus years as a coach and he should have known better. I feel no sympathy for him, not that you're asking for any.

And yet JG is the OC of the #1 offense in the NFL right now. The guy's far from perfect but he's not as incapable as people make him out to be.

I agree that Wade should have been able to hire his OC. There was a ton of dabate on this board at the time but what's done is done. Wade was able to pick his DC and then threw him under the bus and used him as a scape goat so I'm not so confident about letting Wade stay with any stipulation in a hope that he'll right this ship. He is what he is; a better DC then a HC and right now, we need a real HC in the worst way.

I came to the conclusion that Wade should be canned at halftime yesterday. While Wade is a good guy from all accounts he just isn't the right fit for this team.I know Garrett is in many a fans doghouse but I believe he would be the best option at this time.If he was named interim HC you get a free trial to see what he offers,if it doesn't work out you move on.Even considering some suspect play calling/personnel packages he has the #1 offense in the league.Wade has his defense ranked at #21,unless i'm missing something both the offense and defense have played common opponents.I'm of the opinion penalties/lack of focus are the responsibility of the head coach and at this time I have zero confidence in Wade fixing the problem.

#2 Both need to go, but replacing a OC is easier than a HC.
Garrett OC project is over, get a real OC (Chucky), and a real HC this offseason.

Wade Phillips without question.

His attitude is like the plague and it is bad for this team.

The offense is ranked #1 in the NFL.

The defense is ranked #21 in the NFL.

I would fire StayPuff.

Very hard decision as I believe there is quite a bit of evidence that both are in over their heads.

If I had to choose one, I would go with Jason Garrett. Wade Phillips is in the last year of his contract so I only have to suffer through his underwhelming Coaching for only 3/4 of a Season.

If Jason Garrett stays, GM Jerry Jones may still think he is Head Coaching material and promote him and make him one of his pet projects.

It helps when 3 of your opponents are a combined 1-14.

It can be argued that the Cowboys Offense has managed to squeak out wins in spite of Jason Garrett.

No he's not incapable of riding a stacked team, heck Switzer has a ring to prove it...
