If you think Dak played well

The backwards pass to Ferguson.....Held onto the ball a couple times for bad sacks. Oline was terrible but get rid of the ball. Late second half where he was running left chased by Hutchison and fell down -just throw the ball away. I truly think sometimes he does not want to hurt his completion percentage!
Oh there were definitely times he should have thrown it away, I'm just saying more often than not, he it wasn't really a good option.

Speaking of that lateral, it was pretty messed up that they didn't let Ferguson (?) advance the ball. Just blew the play dead for a what, 15 yard loss?

Mahomes's struggles prove the exact thing you keep dodging:
Every QB — even the great ones — needs help.

Now here’s the difference you’re trying hard not to look at:

Mahomes can still FUNCTION when things fall apart.
He can win ugly. He can drag a broken roster to relevance.

Dak?
Dak needs the best protection in the NFL just to stay in rhythm.
The minute the pocket collapses, he turns jittery, the reads slow down, the feet get happy, and the decision-making drops off a cliff.

That’s not ‘hate.’
That’s literally the scouting report going back to Mississippi State.

You asked why he needs top-tier protection?
Because some QBs thrive in chaos…
Dak survives only when the chaos is removed.

And that’s fine — he’s a timing/structure QB.
But let’s not pretend a structure-dependent QB suddenly becomes ‘elite elevator of talent’ just because the system around him is polished to perfection.

If Dilfer can win with an all-time defense,
and Mahomes can struggle with no WRs,
then it’s simple:

Football is a team sport — until people argue about Dak. Then suddenly it’s supposed to be a solo act.

Pick one lane, my friend.”

You contradicted yourself a few times my guy.

First you said Dak needs people around him.... I gave you examples of why its not just Dak, who need players around him, because EVERY quarterback need players around them.....

Then you said its a team game, then this, that and this and that.....

Let me make it clear for you. Football is a TEAM game. Even elite quarterbacks need great players around them, period. There is no different scenario for Dak. Dak is not a solo act who can win games by himself because no quarterback can win games by themselves.

Why do we get the "team sport" lectures after Dak sucks in a game? Why don't we get that when Pickens jumps over 2 DBs to catch Dak's underthrown pass?

I'm just saying that I think people are over stating how much impact they were having on the ability to run the offense. We moved Goff off the spot quite a bit too. Doesn't mean either QB still get a pass off or have the opportunity.
Yeah we watched different games. Goff was carving our zone coverage with clean pockets. Steele literally had his worse game of the year.
And look at you...trying to end this thread and your misery by changing the subject. Nope...not gonna respond to you...especially since you are hurt that Dak didn't let you shine his shoes after a loss.
@Shotgun Dave even more proof. He’s just ridiculous.

My friend… you keep agreeing with me without realizing you’re agreeing with me.
Nobody said QBs don’t need help. I literally said the same thing you just repeated back to me.

Here’s the actual difference — and this is the part you keep skating around:

Some QBs can still operate when things aren’t ideal.
Mahomes. Burrow. Allen. Goff. Stafford.
They can function through chaos. They can elevate. They can adapt.

Dak can’t.

That’s the entire distinction.

You keep saying ‘football is a team game,’
And I keep telling you:
Yes. Exactly.
Which is why a QB who collapses the moment the structure breaks is not elite.

Nobody is asking Dak to be Superman.
People are asking him not to turn into a completely different quarterback the moment the pocket isn’t pristine.

That’s the whole point you keep calling a ‘contradiction.’

Needing help isn’t the issue.
Needing PERFECT help is.

If your QB can only thrive when everything around him is an A+,
You don't have an elite quarterback.
You have a system-dependent one.

That’s not hate.
That’s just football.
Facts > feelings.

You just proved my point for me.

If Mahomes — one of the greatest talents we’ve ever seen — can look human when his WRs drop everything, the defense slips, and the roster has holes… then it kinda shows exactly what I’ve been saying:

Football isn’t a QB-only sport. Teams win games. Teams lose games.

Mahomes didn’t suddenly forget how to throw.
His situation changed.

Same reason Dilfer won a ring with a legendary defense, and same reason Herbert/Jackson/Allen haven’t with weaker ones.

You can’t argue ‘QB isn’t everything’ to defend Mahomes,
and then argue ‘QB is everything’ when talking about Dak.
Pick one lane, my friend.

Ive been saying its a team game since I've been watching football. Yes I picked the same lane decades ago and have stayed in that lane.

Football is a team game.

But im curious about something..... where was your "team game" take when these trolls blame everything negative on Dak alone? Why haven't you ever addressed those people here with the same "team game" energy?

But your facts make me FEEL bad. They HURT me. You don't UNDERSTAND what Dak is going through. You only HATE...you NEVER listen.

Who or what does that sound like? LOL LOL LOL

You did yourself a favor. Respect.
Thanks. Yes, there is a cadre of well-known Dak haters whose inability to discern **** from Shinola is so exceptional that they lessen the otherwise great experience of the rational, if sometimes frustrated, Cowboy fans here.

I should have been using the ignore button decades ago when I first joined.

I started replying to your original message. Originally you said something crazy like Dak needed all number one's at every position to succeed or something like that. I stand to be corrected if im wrong..... but....

Dak has proven that is definitely false.

I’ve been consistent the whole time — you’re just mixing arguments.
Pointing out Dak’s weaknesses isn’t the same thing as saying football isn’t a team game.
You’re trying to turn two separate discussions into one because it’s easier to argue that way.

Here’s the reality:

• When people blame everything on Dak — they’re wrong.
• When people act like Dak is flawless and the team is always to blame — also wrong.

Both extremes are nonsense.
My entire point has been that Dak is not elite, not that he’s responsible for every loss.

You keep asking why I don’t chase every troll on the board…
because I’m responding to you right now.
Not running around moderating the whole forum.

But since you asked:

Dak gets blamed for the collapse games
because that’s when his limitations show up the most.
And elite QBs overcome more of that than Dak does.
That’s why the comparison exists in the first place.

That doesn’t mean he loses alone.
It means he doesn’t elevate when the team struggles — which is literally what separates elite QBs from ‘good with help’ QBs.

Nobody said football wasn’t a team game.
Just that Dak isn’t the kind of QB who rises above a flawed team.

Big difference.
"Facts > feelings.”

Dak didn't have a perfect pocket the last two weeks, brother. Yesterday was jailbreak after jailbreak. When you have someone in your face or on your back in 60% of the snaps, it's hard to be calm in the other 40%. He got out of trouble and made plays. In fact, probably most of the throws he did connect on were under duress. He definitely made mistakes, but you just can't expect any QB to make up for the ineptitude of nearly everyone around him.

Why do we get the "team sport" lectures after Dak sucks in a game? Why don't we get that when Pickens jumps over 2 DBs to catch Dak's underthrown pass?
I can't answer that for you because its always been a team game when Dak or any other quarterback win or lose. So maybe you should ask the people who say what you've said.

With that said, Dak didn't suck yesterday so I don't know what to tell you.

Agreed. We won some and lost some, but the officiating hasn’t improved. Still pretty suspect, IMO.
