If you think Dak played well

Didn't say main problem but he certainly was a part of it and he certainly wasn't a solution given the fact he's the highest paid player in the NFL. Do you think his salary and skills cover up and cure enough of the rest of the teams deficiencies? He's paid to. Can't wait.

You didn’t address the defense giving up 44 points, so I bet you “can’t wait”. So by your logic, because of his salary alone, he should be able to overcome the rest of “teams deficiencies? I just want to make sure I tracking? So if he was making, say half of his current salary, his performance tonight would be acceptable by your standards? You know assuming the defense gave up 44 points. Again, I don’t love Dak but the defense and special teams was the absolute biggest reason for tonight’s loss. As far as Dak’s salary, that is all on Jerry.

I've never had a problem criticizing Dak when his performance was deserving. He was under intense heat all night. Look at the pockets Goff had vs what we saw from our OL. Our tackles were terrible. They were alternating turnstiles. Lions DEs were harassing Dak all night. Despite that he still managed to lead the offense to 30 points.

Our special teams outside of 17 were awful. Our defense was awful. I'm not going to call out Dak when there are so many others that should be shouldering the blame. Dak played well enough to bring it to one score and the defense allowed the Lions to enforce their will. The offense wasn't pretty, but it was effective enough to win this game.

Dak gets blamed for poor blocking and special teams shortcomings.

You didn't know that?

How does a quarterback with a weak are place himself in the top 3 in every quarterback category except ints?

Give me the names of other weak armed quarterbacks who have done that.

I'll patiently wait.....
Rubber band arm? Sure — but only when the whole team is stretching and holding it for him. Every #1 WR, top lineman, and backup is helping that arm look elite. Take them away and suddenly that top-3 stat line turns into a carefully aimed prayer lob… straight into coverage. Arm strength alone didn’t get him there… the team did. Facts > narrative.

as I mentioned in another thread. Dak just cannot get out of his way in these types of games (do or die)

with the score 10-6, he is flushed right to the sideline and for some reason has the time to stop and chuck it 30 yards for a lateral (TO THE TE), but won't show it away past LOS.

result 2nd and 27 vs 2nd and 10, out of FG range. 3rd and 21 vs 3rd and 3 has TE trying to pick up more yardage and fumbles at mid field

der goes up 17-6. played catch up rest of the game.

one of the dumbest plays I've ever seen.

Sixty mil per year just doesn't buy what it used to.

I see everything you've said. Ok cool. Dak isn't elite.....

So why are elite quarterbacks like Mahomes, Herbert, Jackson, etc possibly missing the playoffs this season? What's their excuses?

Dak, who isn't elite led wins over elite quarterbacks like Mahomes and Hurts this season. Care to explain how this was possible?
Sure, Dak beat Mahomes and Hurts in a game or two, congrats, highlight reel secured. But elite QBs aren’t judged by occasional wins; they’re judged by carrying teams when everything around them isn’t perfect. Dak? He wins big when his WR1 is healthy, the line is intact, and the scheme clicks. Take those away, and suddenly it’s not a Dak highlight, it’s a team project. Winning one-off games doesn’t make you elite — doing it consistently, in spite of adversity, does. Facts > feelings.

No problem, this is a good discussion.

Now..... Trent Dilfer, Nick Foles and Kaepernick were never considered elite.

Yet they were able to win Superbowls or atleast make it to a Superbowl. I was told that Burrow, Herbert, Jackson and Josh Allen were elite quarterbacks......

So why haven't these elite quarterbacks like Allen, Jackson and Herbert carried their teams to Superbowl victories like non elite quarterbacks Trent Dilfer and Nick Foles?

As a matter of fact.... Kaepernick who wasn't considered an elite quarterback led his team TO a Superbowl. Something elite quarterbacks like Herbert, Allen and Jackson have never done.

You have the floor to now explain this sir.....

So give me the names of other rubber band arm or weak arm quarterbacks who have been perennial top ten, became an All-Pro and MVP candidate, and currently top 3 in every quarterback category.

Dak couldn't possibly be the first in a 100 year NFL history to do these things, correct? So what other weak arm, rubber band arm quarterback did these things?

Alright, rubber band arm, top-3 stats, All-Pro nods… Dak’s done impressive things, no doubt. But let’s be honest — even Brees, Rivers, Wilson, and Ryan had to lean on timing, smarts, and their supporting casts to get there. Dak isn’t the first, he’s just the latest to show that an arm alone doesn’t make a QB elite. Wins matter, stats matter… context matters more. Facts > feelings.

yea. the narrative will be "but they came back to be within 3". that play will get buried as it was midway through the 2nd qtr...but it took point off the board and made it a 3 possession game.

I dont think you will find any other nfl qb who made such a high risk low return decision this year.

at 33, I dont know what you do with that as a coach

Im seeing a lot of fans “relieved” that the defense should shoulder the blame for this loss as opposed to lumping Dak in there as well.

He played a bad game. The lazy will look at the stat sheet and see he threw for over 300 yards and the ints were the fault of the receivers.

He was inaccurate on several deep passes (got CD concussed).

Threw that horrific backwards pass instead of throwing it away

Led 0 Td drives in the first half against a team missing most of their secondary.
Goff missed a couple wide open receivers too.
I am not a big Dak supporter, but he played exceptional considering the blocking he received. Also, the 2 int’s were more on the receivers than Dak.

Detroit DB’s were playing a lot tighter than our soft DB’s. Goff had guys wide open. Dak had much smaller windows to throw into.

Both Romo and Dak have been good enough to at least go to the NFC Champ game.

Unfortunately history tells us that The GM is incapable of putting a playoff team winner together.

Ah, the ‘Super Bowl = elite’ argument. Sure, Dilfer, Foles, and Kaepernick had rings — but they also had defenses, coaches, and perfect game plans doing half the work. Elite QBs like Burrow, Herbert, Allen, and Jackson might not have Lombardis yet, but they carry teams, make consistently elite plays, and dominate even when the pieces aren’t perfect. Super Bowl wins are great highlights — context and sustained excellence define true elite. Facts > luck.

Well im confused. Elite quarterbacks couldn't do what non Elite quarterbacks have done?

Then you give excuses of those non Elite quarterbacks benefiting off of defenses? That's interesting.

Mahomes is historically amongst the best quarterbacks in NFL history. Why are they possibly out of playoff contention?

That 60 mill a year player is top 3 in his position this year. What happens if the players around him are top 3 in their positions?

What would our record be??
